27pts in the 1st half by Ray Allen: DAMN!! At least he 'only' made 7 straight. Last thing I need to see on Sportscenter is a pre-meditated montage of Jordan vs Blazer mixed in with Ray Allen vs L.A

That was a crappy foul on Bryant. He was already starting to go off until that moment. At least he was able to come back on and cut the lead. He's definitely playing on a higher level these finals. He's not in a situation of wanting to give this game up. I hope he comes out swinging during the 2nd half. Lakers need to step it up a notch and match up to the Celtics intensity.

Good thing the crowd is back in it. Nice to see the MTV Movie Awards is missing a number of celebrities tonight, they picked the Lakers game instead :D

^^True. I guess one bad call deserves another.....The refs have had a number of bad calls. I can't remember all of them, but it's giving the game turns that aren't supposed to be there. Lakers defended well at the end of the 3rd. Bryant better play like he's on PEDs, he sat out a damn long time. Hopefully he'll be shooting hot off the bench as well.

Ok. Fuck Ray Allen, what an asshole.

Those ref's made some TERRIBLE calls. Kobe shouldn't have even been on 5 fouls. I don't understand how I think in the 3rd or 4th quarter Kobe was up in the air and Davis? moved into draw the charge and they call Kobe on a charge? On the replay one of the commentators said "good call" I don't understand how it is if the guy was moving when he was already in the air. Pisses me off lol.. But yeah BAD calls both ways.

Fuck Ron Artest too. Crucial end of the 4th and he dribbles around wasting time and ends up putting up an off balance contested 3. How Phil and every other Laker did not shoot him at that moment is beyond me. When he got fouled out it looked like Shannon Brown was gonna.

Odom needs to show up in Boston.

Positive note is it wasn't a 20 point loss. Just gotta take one (or two) in Boston before going back home.

Also LOL @ Jack and his tiny binoculars.

What were you doing on that play?

"I don't know," Artest said.

Was that a smart play?

"I don't know. That depends, it felt good though."

Were you just looking for someone to pass to on that play? Was no one popping open?

"Um, I'm not sure. Yeah, I'm not sure."

Did it feel like you were dribbling around forever?

"I'm not sure. When you're in the game you don't really know how many seconds, you just play."

Phil Jackson said that you might've been trying to redeem yourself?

"Hmm, Phil just thinks ... I guess he's assuming."

:worried:

Damn, crazy game yesterdaay. Blown calls, foul trouble, and a lot of acting. Is this a sign that stern is trying to extend the series as much as possible?

Lakers aren't losing 4 straight against Boston I'll tell ya that. Were coming back for game 6.

LOL @ the gif with the hat.

The way the game was called I'd say that is a possibility, it was a head scratcher.

@ Kobe: You made that up yeah? He didn't really say that..

lol women talking about sports.

Someone search this thread and find dude who told me last summer that Rondo wasn't good.
I dont think it was me lol...But to defend who it was...you can argue that he wasn't that good last year.

Man the refs made some bad calls but I dont like to blame them cus they were bad for both teams...I will blame them for the fucking out of bounds call that they said went off of KG but in the replays you can clearly see KG's hand going in front of Pau's and hitting the ball out of bounds, why they didn't review like they were going to pisses me off. They were about to then the back fucking court ref calls em in for a huddle and calls Celtics ball...they made a hoop on the possession, the game went from a 3 pt lead to a 5 pt lead, made it a two possession game with 1:50 something left cus of that horrible fucking call, or decision not to review it.

Ron Artest had no one to pass to really when he was dribbling around. He looked but everyone was blanketed, props to the Celts D not fault to Artest

There were some bullshit calls on the Celtics too no denying that, but Kobe and Artest having 5 and 6 fouls on those calls, shake my head worthy

There’s going to be a lot of trade talk around this year’s NBA draft, though it most likely will begin at No. 3. It’s almost certain the Wizards take John Wall with the first overall selection. While there have been rumors of trading Elton Brand and the No. 2 pick, the 76ers are most likely to take Evan Turner since new coach Doug Collins likes the big guard to go with point guard Jrue Holiday.

With the Nets seeking to make a big splash with new ownership, that cannonball I’ve been hearing about lately is Chris Paul.

The New Orleans Hornets are set to announce Monty Williams as their new coach this week after new Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau passed on the job. The Hornets, who are likely to be sold, have insisted they will keep Paul, who supposedly has expressed a preference for Williams.

But the fact remains Paul can become a free agent after two more seasons, so his value never will be higher. And if you have a rookie coach and the chance to start fresh, especially since it’s difficult to believe the Hornets can compete now in the loaded Western Conference, doesn’t it make sense to get a great young core in place? Maybe not to the Hornets.

Still, the talk is the Nets intend to make a major run at Paul with the No. 3 draft pick, who would most likely be Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors, a freshman power forward talked about as a future star.

The Nets pretty much know they have no shot at LeBron James playing in Newark at least the next two years. So how much excitement do you get from Amar’e Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer or David Lee, the trio most likely considered Nets possibilities.

The informed speculation is the Nets will make a bold run at Paul.

The thinking goes like this: You get Paul and can play Devin Harris at shooting guard. Harris isn’t a great three-point shooter, though he has had decent seasons at 34 percent. But he is more a scoring guard than point guard. Plus, the way the game is played these days, it is useful to have a shooting guard who can handle the ball and make plays as opposed to just spotting up. The other, perhaps more likely, possibility is a sign-and-trade with the Hawks of Harris for Joe Johnson.

Harris would be a much cheaper alternative to Johnson and could play with Jamal Crawford, who really is better at getting his own shot than Johnson, though less a defender.

So how do they get Paul? The Nets mostly absorb the salary in their cap space, along with some of Johnson’s salary from the sign-and-trade if that is included. The Hornets get the No. 3 pick and likely a potential future star in Favors. The Nets have a few other pieces the Hornets might want, perhaps Yi Jianlian, Courtney Lee or the talented, if erratic, Terrence Williams.

It’s a two pronged benefit for the Hornets.

They have a highly regarded potential young backcourt in Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton. They add to that Favors and with a rookie coach it’s a heck of a core to build with. So what of David West?

He’s a highly regarded talent, so the Hornets would be in position to make another deal. One of the keys, of course, is finances. The new potential owner has been said to be looking for minority financing, which suggests the franchise still is facing operating losses. Plus, they’re in luxury tax territory already. It’s bad business to be there without a chance to seriously compete, which would be difficult to project now with the Hornets. Plus with still another natural disaster hitting the Gulf and the economy, there could be further financial woes for the small market Hornets.

The fact is they’ve had their run and it’s time for change. Jeff Bower is regarded as one of the league’s top general managers. With a chance to get pieces and move West, who only has one year left on his deal with an opt out he’d likely exercise as his contract declines, the Hornets could get in position to be making another run and build together with a promising young group.
CP3/Lebrick/Lopez nice trio right there

I got it from here Los Angeles Lakers' Ron Artest's help sometimes hurts - ESPN Los Angeles

That's because the Lakers got rocked!!

I heard Pierce got caught on cam sayin "yea! We ain't commin back to LA!" hahaha. Did anyone catch that? Overconfident? Cocky? What's the deal?
It's ESPN's way of making up for what they said about Gasol. Anyway, during the game Pierce helped up one of his team-mates and said something about L.A. Turns out he said something along the lines of they ain't coming back to L.A or something like that. Other things the mic picked up during Game 2: When the Celtics called a time out, as they went to the bench high fiving each other, one of them said, "Myyyyyyyyyyyyy nigaaaaaaaaaaaaa". That was funny.

Officials have made a major part of the talk, they are making more rounds than Ray Allen's shooting clinic. Speaking of Allen, do him and Bryant have some beef? Anyone know anything about that?
