So I'd been bootlegging Spotify Premium for over ten years by just using an ad blocker on my browser lol. I think Spotify is finally catching on.
What music streaming services are you guys using these days? There's a few things to think about such as sound quality/bit rate and also music selection for more niche artists and genres. Spotify seems to have the biggest library, Tidal or Qobuz have the best sound quality and Apple Music seems to be a sweet spot for all the criteria.
I realized recently that I have missed an entire era (or two) of music from the current generation of rap and hip hop. Or just pop music. I hear songs in TV shows or in stores while shopping and if I like it, I'll ask someone with me what song it is, who sings it. And they almost always tell me "oh, it's an old song by *artist I've never head of* from 2016." And then I wonder in 10-20 years, when the current era of music is considered "old school" or "oldies" and people start reminiscing or feeling nostalgic about this era of music, will I continue to sit there and be clueless about the song, the artist, etc.?
