I kinda said I was a Kobe fan rather than a Lakers fan, so Arthur's argument doesn't really pertain to me...but...
The Lakers were around for decades before Kobe, as a very popular team, mind you. They will be around long after Kobe is gone, as well...with thousands upon thousands of fans. If Kobe leaves, ticket prices won't plummet to pennies, the Staples Center won't be empty, it's the NBA, man, people even go to Grizzlies' games...depending on who they are playing.
Staying loyal to your team is good and all, but McGrady and Steve Francis don't compare to Kobe. Francis lost his athleticism and lost his game. McGrady lost his passion. The Rockets are better than they've ever been without those two players.
LeBron had every right to walk out. If it had been Delonte West who walked out, it wouldn't be a big deal. But since LeBron walked out, he should be taken to the gallows!! Off with his head!!
He is a grown man, if he wants to risk being scrutinized by media in order to walk out, he can do it. He knew the risks before walking out, he isn't an idiot. This isn't near as bad as when he walked out of the game with five minutes left, teammates still on the floor, but since this is in the Conference Finals, it's blown out of proportion.
I never liked Morrison. Mainly because of that damn mustache.
