You really don't think American auto manufacturers are making leaps and bounds since their bailouts? I mean, it sucks that that's what it took to get them off their asses, but I think GM and Ford are really stepping their game up. Cadillac is targetting BMW, Buick is after Lexus, and Ford is after Toyota and Honda, and maybe even Nissan. And performance and fuel efficiency-wise, I think they are almost on-par. Pricing might be the only issue, but those $15,000 Kias you see would kill everyone in the car if it hit a park bench going 15mph. Their build quality isn't quite the same.
