it doesnt really surprise me.
id say its a cultural problem. in britain you can say whatever you want and nobody can stop you. like this place in london.. speakers corner i think its called. and you can still see documentaries about nazi germany like every day on tv. people seem to not get enough of it.

like germanys foreign minister said: "if you want to see the stechschritt(you know the march where your legs go straight up) you just have to turn on british television, because in germany you wont find any." something along those lines

If anyone 'normal' wore that costume, then it wouldnt be a problem, but Harry has great responsibility. If he can enjoy the perks of his priveleged life then he has to live with the curse of his gift also. (a gift which was gifted to him ofcourse)!
The nazi era was the biggest lapse in civilised morality and for PRINCE Harry to be so insensitive in his position as Britains Ambassador just shows how his conscious seems to be bankrupt of any feeling towards 6 MILLION people who were massacred.
Like I said as an ambassador for Britain he will have to be careful what he does.
And if he doesn't want ot then he can always give up his privelged life and live with us commoners. What makes me think he doesn't want to do this!

and to artisticgurl: harrys charity work is laughable, he went on the charity work as part of a gap year (his whole life is a gap year  ) and for the cameras.
Say if Bill Gates gave $10,000 towards charity and someone who was earning minimum wage gave £300 at the same charity event, whos charity would be heavier relatively speaking. Exactly!
and the Royal Family are known to do these charity events for publicity anyway.
So true. A republic is the way forward

After all, the current Royals are of German descent and not only do they leech off the taxpayer, they seem to be embroiled in scandal after scandal...when will it stop?

When we vote them out, or run them out
Either way suits me

Because he can. I'm sure he knows it aint no crime to fancy dress. We should be looking at ourselves asking 'am I a symbol critic?' That's my opinion.

so basically your saying what about your right to 'offend and be offended'
ok, i can live with that, but the problem is that what are the boundaries of acceptable offence and unacceptable offence. these lines become blurred and matter of opinions. Dangerous!!

I'm not gonna appeal to everyone. Maybe Prince harry thinks that too.
- "so basically your saying what about your right to 'offend and be offended'" - <I dont think im entirely sure what this means, sorry. can you explain?

He sure has everyone attention, I'm growing to like his character

I don't think people are looking at Prince Harry, they are looking at his sleave instead, blind to the fact truth has no alibi. I bet he having a right giggle at us

lmao harry is always doing stupid things these days. I bet you he just did it to get in the papers again because he knows there's so many people that can't handle something like this and people that would make a big fuss over it.

What does being of German descent have to do with anything? Are you trying to say that because they have German blood this might of led Harry to dress up as a member of the Afrika Korps? A republic is not the only way forward. IMO the monarchy is doing it's job. There's a long and prosperous cultural affinity between the monarchy and the English people, why remove it?

The issue is not the swastika, or its origins. Harry was not wearing just a swastika, he was wearing the uniform of a Nazi soldier in Rommel's North African corps.

Harry may potentially be the King of a country that fought for its survival against the Nazis. 1 in 3 British houses were damaged by the Nazis during World War II. Hundreds of thousands of Brits died because of the Nazis.

Harry wasn't trying to push people's buttons or make a fashion statement. He was being a mindless dumbfuck, something he's become pretty good at in the past 5 years.

German descent has to do with British people being the subjects of Royals whose roots in Britain dont even go back that far

You must not live in Britain as if you did you'd know that the monarchy do nothing for the people of this country and their only real use is as figureheads of a long British history which, even though this history is marred with horrors, manages to attract fairytale-seeking tourists

Morris is right. Harry is too much of an idiot to be able to actually play the media in his favour. He doesn't have the brains to think up a plan of wearing a nazi soldiers uniform solely with the intention of pushing buttons and shit.
He's acts like a spoilt brat.

Well it's quite clear that you're of a very negative opinion vis-a-vis the monarchy so it is pointless to try and argue that point with you. George V rejected his German roots in 1917 and changed the fmaily name from Saxe-Coburg-Gota to Windsor precisley to become totally "British" and reject thier German roots so that has nothing to do with this or the monarchy itself.

I can, and do, reject the idea that I am a subject of the Royal family and yet by law I am. So the Royals can reject their German roots, they have them nonetheless.

While I take exception to the opinion presented earlier of a harmless monarchy, I can, however, respect what you're saying here even if I don't agree with some of it.

So when Eminem dressed up as Osama Bin Laden that was funny but somehow this is 100% wrong? Just a difference in reaction to both of these incidents.

I dont care charity is charity and whatever your reasons for doing it arnt so low that it is unacceptable. Its not like Harry had a choice whether the Media surrounded him while he was doing it, they were going to be there even if he didnt want them. And I'm sure the people who received something from Harry while he was there dont think it was "laughable" they benefited thats all that matters.
And Jokerman do you have a source from what you said?
