Eminem's new album..

Slim Shady has returned! Slapping this 'politically correct' world right in the face!
This album rocks! NOBODY in rap...no...music - is doing anything as brilliant as Eminem. The man is a genius and the best thing to hit rap since Pac - Thank Christopher Reeves he's back!

in this year or the last couple infact, what albums do you think was better then relapse?
El-P's I'll Sleep When You're Dead had better beats, better content, better production, better replay value than Relapse. Although El-P's rhymes comes short technically, I think his shit would leave some rapper's tongues twisted in a knot.

The only thing Relapse has is Eminem's ability to flow like a mad man, and I don't see how anyone can hold a straight face and claim that it's brilliant or it's the best thing since sliced bread.

The content Eminem brings to the table with this album, to me, is no different than slapping hoes, smoking blunts, candy paint and 24 inch rims. Just some collection of shallow, short sighted, tiresome comedy disguised under well crafted rhymes.

The question is, being an Eminem fan, and knowing the power he has, am I willing to lower my standards and claim this work to be great? Hellllllll NO! Not yesterday, not today, and not forever.

The man is a genius and the best thing to hit rap since Pac
and So Fi wonders why I am so mad. Regardless of how serious this member is, it's some bullshit I would hear my friends saying.

Eminem is no doubt talented, but that's not the point.

Tupac cared about his people, and he had so much passion and believed in what he was saying.

What does Eminem do besides talking about himself and being a douche out of not having anything else to talk about? Yeah, I feel so sorry for him 'cause he doesn't have pills to fall back on anymore.. hang it up.

Yeah, I'm mad! I'm mad as hell and I will not calm down.

I don't think it's "great," but then some are going to the extreme opposite and calling it bad just because it's not as good as his best, or because they're Eminem junkies who have reached saturation point thanks to being over-exposed to his earlier work and now think he's lacking something. No, you're lacking something: being new to Eminem's world. We're all lacking that now, and to be fair to him, we have to understand that and adjust our mindsets to take that into account when we give our opinions about his latest. (And I'm not putting S. Fourteen in that category; his points are valid. He's just reacting to the adulation, which is just as wrong.)

Em does need to get new themes or subject matter. He's still killing women and talking about fags (lesbians, now), like it's still going to create controversy or even bother gays anymore. Everyone's yawning, Em. We know you're not really like that. You did a show with Elton just to prove it.

Another problem with this album is there's very few really funny lines in it. Even the last one had funnier lines than this. I don't know if that's on purpose for the dark theme of the album or he's still so depressed from Proof that he can't think funny yet. But its lack takes a lot away from this. After listening to this some more for the last few days, I'm thinking less and less of it. I only come back to like 3 or 4 songs, and that's no more than the last album.

But what's wrong is a review like this:

Review: Eminem’s “Relapse†- On the Record

This guy is a complete idiot. If you don't like the best thing Em or anyone's ever done (as this guy doesn't), I don't believe you should be reviewing their latest album! If you've always hated his themes and held Em up to the standards of the Dalai Lama, why bother to review anything he does? And why would someone go to him for a review? This guy is so clueless, it's pathetic.

A lot of reviews are destroying Relapse. But those reviews are so biased as they show they have a strong hate for Eminem as well.

C'mon people it's not Em's best work, but it's not his worst. Relapse is listenable, enjoyable. It seems most people it's either they love it or they hate it. There is a middle as well...

imo relapse is a great album, i've not stop listening to it since it was released in the shops, i feel like listening to relapse until i know the tracks word for word

i wonder what happened to that 'im having a relapse' track that leaked onto the internet ages ago, i thought that was one of the tracks to be featured on the album or did it get dropped from the final track list
