Walton is also a fan favorite in LA, that matters a lot to the white-collar guys who only care about merch sales and ticket sales. If fans like someone, they tend to stick around, regardless of how ineffective they are (See: Brian Scalabrine, Boston)

I always loved him on And1 and have been a huge fan since he started in the NBA. I would always write him in on the ballot for all star voting lmao. Never worked. Finally he is getting some attention. Loved him slapping House in the back of the head in the BOS series.

I despise Shaq with everything I have in me, now. I think he lost his work ethic and his passion for the game, which is why he shows up every year overweight and no longer determined.
But Shaq in the nineties was a sight. He was a beast. Like a less-athletic Howard. I used to give ORL hell for picking Howard over Okafor, but, Howard has made me eat my words. I'm very impressed. This guy is my age making millions to block shots and rebound.
He also seems like a very friendly person. Always smiling and joking and dancing. But he has the fierceness to dominate a game as well. And the build of a superhero with the jumping abilities of a feline. It's incredible. Plus, he's young. He will be good for the next ten years.
If I had to pick a current player to base a franchise on, it would be a hard choice between LeBron and Howard...maybe Wade, but a lot of injuries on him. I love Kobe, I consider him the best in the NBA, but at his age, you can't build a new franchise on him.
I would be more apt to go with Howard simply because most teams built around a guard usually don't go far. I know this year is Lakers and Cavs year, but if you look at it in a historical sense it's usually Tim Duncan's Spurs or KG's Celtics or Shaq's Lakers that win big.
