Sam and Dave performing Hold On, I'm Comin' on the epic Stax Volt Norway tour.
Fabulous footage. It's the major Stax artists in Norway in the early sixties. Its this (black) soul music being performed in front on a very, VERY white crowd, both in complexion, time-frame and music knowledge. You can see the guards, probably Norse police, making sure nothing unsavory happens. But they rock the crowd like fuckityshits, it's awesome to watch.
It's, in my opinion, one of the very true, very rare instances of the *true* power of music on display. Not the power of music as in you liking that Limp Bizkit song that makes everybody at the party "go totally rad, dude", but the power of music that transcends international, cultural and racial boundaries.
It's from the Stax Volt Norway tour and all parts are easily found on YouTube. Do yourself a big big favour and check it out.
If you saw it all and honestly didn't like it, I will be your eternal servant for ever. You should also resign from humanity as soon as possible.
