From the album that followed, a little bit more melody

That "Keep on Rotting" track was from the album after that. Lot of people don't like it but it's a grower. A lot of good stuff on there. They have a pretty interesting discography. From grindcore to a more death metal orientated sound and then they stated adding a lot more melody.

Amazing album. Did you happen to hear Nostradamus? People mostly hated or loved it (I was in between), so curious what you thought ... if you've heard it.

I must admit to my shame that i only have a best of album by Priest.

I just looked at the songs on the Nostradamus album and I haven't heard any of them.

Whats it like?

It's unlike any other Judas Priest album. More epic songwriting I guess you can call it. It's a 2-disc concept album about Nostradamus. It's a failed experiment to me but I can listen to it fully every now and then. Worth checking out for the stand-out tracks.

The title track being one

Rob Halford has lost some of his voice but considering he's 57 here it's pretty forgivable.

If you want to check out other Judas Priest albums check out Sad Wings of Destiny, Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller (I chose one album from the 70s, 80s and 90s each, should have quite a different sound for each album). "Victim of Changes" comes from Sad Wings and that's their best album in my opinion.

Maybe the most depressing song ever made...it's so good, though. Whenever I listen it, I have waves of melancholy spilling over me. Even if I'm in a perfectly happy mood, this song will make me reflect on things that could've, should've been so much, it damn straight earns the stamp "depressing song".

But they do it so well...i don't like depressing music, but by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, this is some good music

EDIT:

It can't be a coincidence the following song on the album is "Optimistic", lol. The band needed to stop it's fans from killing themselves.

Talking about depressing songs...

Yeah it does kinda pick up towards happiness....regardless, by miles, one of my favorite songs ever. I can *always* come back to this one and know what music is about.
