^^Really? TBH you didn't miss much.

Major stories right now (because they're happening right now): Dwight Howard & Chris Paul...where will they end up?

Farewell Shanwow.

Steve Nash is going to have a new alley-oop partner this season. Unrestricted free agent and former Los Angeles Lakers guard Shannon Brown will sign a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Phoenix Suns, sources told ESPN the Magazine's Chris Broussard on Thursday.

Back in June, Brown opted out of his contract with the Lakers for the 2011-12 season that would have paid him approximately $2.4 million.

Oh yeah :)

The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to surrender Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom in a trade for New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul, sources tell ESPN.com's Marc Stein. Sources close to the process tell Stein that the Houston Rockets remain part of the talks and are trying to complete a deal that would send Gasol to Houston and the Rockets' Luis Scola, Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic to New Orleans, along with Odom.

if the league really killed the chris paul trade because some owners started crying, the players should tear up the cba agreement and go on strike. what a joke.

It seems Stern is behind it, but I wonder what the end result of all this will be.

Within an hour of the Hornets striking an agreement in principle with the Lakers and Houston Rockets on a three-team trade that would have landed Paul in the same backcourt as Kobe Bryant, Stern informed the Hornets that they couldn't make the trade, stunning team officials who had been working around-the-clock for days in hopes of bringing an end to the Paul saga before the season officially started.

i'm really tired of LA getting good players for nothing. yeah, fuck gasol and odom. point is, LA always gets good ass players for barely anything in return.

considering marc gasol is about to get a max or near-max deal, that last gasol trade wasn't so bad after all.

wtf? why would you want CP3 to go to LA?
because he's one of my favorite players and i would love to be able to watch him more often without paying for league pass?
and it's fundamentally unfair for dan gilbert and mark cuban to be able to interfere with a mutually beneficial transaction between other teams.

but you hate Kobe. tell me it's at least a little bit bittersweet. anyway, so the deal is dead? good. and I do agree that it's a big conflict of interest with Stern essentially making decisions for the Hornets.

I didn't know the Chandler deal was cleared. I guess I was too busy waiting for Stan to veto it.

Cuban is an idiot for not giving him the contract he deserved in the 1st place. He'll fit in fine with the Knicks, he has the work ethic and experience to make a difference.

last fall i moved into a house with a kid from new england and a kid from san diego who hates everything los angeles-related. i brought the tv, so i watched a lot of basketball. neither of them knows shit about basketball but man................... it made me very fond of kobe.

anyone think d'antoni's days are numbered? i don't see how he can run his style of offense with this roster. all their dimes are gonna come from tyson chandler smacking offensive rebounds back to amare and melo. mike woodson's already lurking on the bench. amare's knees are gonna be very limited in this compressed season. maybe if they draw a favorable matchup in the first round and are respectable in the second, he survives long enough to sign steve nash NEXT year and make a last stand?

Totally agree. If they underachieve for any extended period of time, I think/hope Woodson will get the job. No excuses now, they have the talent. Also hoping the Knicks can get creative and bring Jamal Crawford back.
