this post will discuss episode 1 in some level of detail
OK, just watched it. Good episode, I like the way they handled the flash forward. I wonder who's in the "Oceanic 6". Obviously it's not just the people in Jack's faction, since Hurley was there. I wonder what happened to Jack for him to go from "We're never going back" to "We have to go back".

And what the hell was Christian Shepherd doing in Jacob's cabin?! Madness.
Madness indeed, especially considering the fact that a) Hurley would have no reason to know what he looks like, never met him, ie., and b) the last mobisode before the season. Illu, did you check the mobisodes, and also, did you follow the ARG? Very interesting. Also, did you view any sneak peaks or trailers for next week?

The thing with the ocean six is probably something that's gonna get resolved this season. I bet they do go back to the island. The thing is, there obviously is some big secret to them leaving. On one hand, Hurley apologizes for going with Locke. On the other hand, he says he doesn't think they did the right thing. So no matter who they went with they were fucked?

I have to say hats off to the fact that all the loose ends were picked up on in the first episode, instead of the first three. I am so excited about next week. I'll reveal a mild "spoiler" about that in the line following this one, i will just keep typing to wrap it up in a paragraph so it doesn't stick out so much. So don't keep reading if you don't want to know anything about next week. Basically the title of the upcoming episode is confirmed dead, and it is a flashback episode focusing on the new freighter people. i just have to say wow. the other 48 days?

I watched a couple of mobisodes, but then forgot. The last one was something to do with Christian Shepherd's shoe?

Haven't seen a trailer for next week. I don't think Sky One showed one, or if they did then I switched off before it came on.

lmao, here's an excerpt from an episode analysis of s04e01. this made me laugh a little:

Finally, all the Lostaways are reunited in the jungle. Jin and Sun embrace, Rose calls Bernard "Rambo" again, even Juliet and Alex hug. Hurley tells Claire that Charlie is gone, and then... The Mad Doctor attacks Locke, pounces on him, grabs his gun and holds it to his beautiful bald head. Now, I'm not saying that Jack didn't have a right to be mad at my man. But for him to have actually pulled the trigger?!?! That was IT for me. The Mad Doctor is dead to me. He actually thought he was going to shoot Locke in the head at point blank range--he pulled the trigger! That bastard! I am GLAD you end up a chubby, hairy, drugged-out loser, do you hear me, Jack?!? Do not MESS with Locke!

It was pretty crazy that he actually pulled the trigger. Jack really has gone to the dark side, every sentence seems to end with "...and then I'm gonna kill you".

yes, the second episode was cool. the last scene gave me the good old feeling. ben being creepily on top of things despite the circumstances was nice to see. i read an unspoiled review of the next episode, number three, and apparently it expands on new mysteries, probably more about why the freighter people are on their mission for example. basically, it credited the fourth season of lost for being more fast resolving and compared it to heroes.

apparently, as we move on the episodes are just supposed to get better and better.

Good to know, because after seeing Heroes the pace of previous LOST seasons seemed a lot slower than I remember.

They have plenty of characters, though, and most of them are interesting ones.

Apparently the plan now is to cut season 4 down from 16 episodes to 13, the first 7 (already filmed) followed by a break (grr) and then the remaining 6 (one of which has been filmed). Episode 7 supposedly has a better cliffhanger than episode 8.

The extra 3 episodes would be added on to seasons 5 and 6, so we'd still get 48 episodes.

i heard different lol. i actually heard that the ending of episode 8 was a big wtf-moment. lol.

episode 3 was nice. daniel intrigues me so much, he suddenly seemed on top of things for a minute.

****spoiler if u havent seen the latest ep****

Episode 3 opened so many cans of worms, Ben, he's gotta be after the Dharma right??? but WHY is Sayid with Ben??? wheres the Motive, Desmond was on the Helicopter, but isnt confirmed to leave the island, granted he wasnt on the Oceanic, so he wasnt any of the six, but still....so many questions, so long to wait, Who's on the boat? who's ben's man on it??!?!?!?!

...and what happens to desmond in the helicopter?

but moreso, wtf was up with daniel's experiment? did you get it too?
i don't know why i would think so, but i'm thinking michael is ben's "man" on the boat.

i don't know why i would think so, but i'm thinking michael is ben's "man" on the boat.
The experiment confused me, it appeared to be like, 30, 31 minutes out, so....that questions me, is the entire island always been out of sync by half an hour, or is it some alternative timeline, so have actually been there longer than the 3/4 month they assume they've been there???the physics behind it baffle me but i would love to know.......

Michael on the boat??? im not sure, i thought it could be, but i went back and watched the season 3 finale i thought Michael would be in the coffin jack went to see, just because of the Urban setting he was in....but maybe Michael is on the boat, and responsible for the Oceanic 6 getting off the island, although Jack didnt seem to care too much about whoever was in that Coffin...

Ive always waited till a season is finished untill i watch it, all the way through (well i did with 2 & 3) but watching it weekly is Killing me....

So Sayid is working for Ben because he wants to protect "his friends" (i.e. Jack, Kate, Hurley and the others that have made it off the island) from whoever is trying to harm them (Richard Abaddon I imagine). Interesting. I liked the foreshadowing earlier in the episode, when he said that "the day I trust [Ben] is the day I sell my soul".

The fact that the episode was named after The Economist makes me think he's more than just a name on a list, he'll probably turn up again somewhere.

Kate's Episode was great i thought, although, i wish we were getting more answers, as opposed to getting more questions, the whole Kate and Aaron situation was boggling, and i had so many theories, i DONT believe that Aaron is indeed Claire's Aaron, Maybe something happened to Claire and Aaron and Kates responsible or involved, so she names (Jack & Kates child) after him....?!?!?/!

#39
No, that had to be Claire's Aaron. Claire died (Jack was at fault somehow, hence him not wanting to see the kid) and Kate took him and pretended he was her son. The obviously problem there is; Aaron's pretty old now. Surely people would know that Kate wasn't eight months pregnant when she left Sydney?

Jack said only eight people survived the crash, six of which are alive and living in the real world. Both of those numbers probably exclude Aaron, since he wasn't actually born when the plane crashed, and he wasn't really a passenger on the plane.

So in the "official" story, two people must have survived the crash but died before getting home. One of them may have been in the casket at the end of Season 3. All the others, the ones who "died in the crash", are either genuinely dead or still on the island. Or off the island, secretly.
