so the new season starts in january and we're in mid december. it's right around the corner. now let's just hope that stupid strike ends so we get a full season. worst case scenario, we end up getting eight episodes. i know there is a thread already. i made a new one to sum up the info.

the ending of the eighth episode is a mini-cliffhanger but was not made with the strike in mind - there was supposed to be an episode following the next week to pick it back up. it was compared to ending season 2 with michael shooting ana-lucia and libby. it doesn't mean someone dies, it just means something happens that you understand why happened and it doesn't leave you wondering, it just pisses you off that you can't see the rest. that's bad news, just thought i'd prepare you people

the first episode is called "the beginning of the end". and the main reason i made this thread is that there is now a trailer for season 4 out, with a LOT of season 4 footage. all i have to say is "oh my god", i think lost is going back to season 1 quality coupled with season 2 mystery and season 3 answers. i'm fucking psyched. the first season started with some guy in a suit waking up in the middle of the jungle. after a few minutes you understand he was on a plane that crashed. season two starts out with what seems to be a glimpse into the everyday of someone stationed to do something, somewhere, whatever that is. turns out he lives in a hatch on the island. season 3 starts with someone making buns and having a book club meeting and after a few minutes you gather that it's the middle of the home of the others, and that it's the day of the plane crash.

i'm really really really wondering how they're starting season 4. as much as i love watching the entire seasons, the first and last episode(s) are the fucking greatest.

Seriously though. Illu for example? Wtf, watch the damn trailer, it looks promising as fuck imo. I also saw some photos of a set on the island with some large bones sticking up from the ground. Like a dinosaur dig site, with a hatch-like facility near-by. Interesting.

here i was sitting, hoping that at least you, out of everyone, would post a somewhat longer response with some of your speculations and thoughts. you disappoint me. i have nobody else to discuss it with :( chronic is a faggot who waits until the season finishes before he watches it. god how he disgusts me.

Thought with spoilers:


The end of last season, with Jack and Kate being off the Island, I always assumed it happened after everyone got off and after the series finishes. Now I get the feeling it happens while others are still on the Island. So for a while (probably while he was off filming Speed Racer) Jack isnt in the series, he leaves the Island, others stay with Lock, Jack then comes back (until they make Speed Racer 2).

i could respond to that with my own ideas. this will be a little, little bit spoilery, but here goes:





in the trailer you hear locke saying "whatever they came for it wasn't us". or did you? there are two trailers, one was shown in cinemas. in this one, you hear some new guy tell jack that saving them isn't exactly priority number one. what i believe is that people will come to the island, a group of people, and they will probably be up to something. like, they'll do things we won't understand and the new wtf moments will be what these guys are up to, who they are, why they are here, and so forth. michael is returning. did he get picked up by the freighter? i know there is a scene being shot as a fiji bay harbour too.

furthermore, jack is convinced they are there to save them. locke knows they aren't. i smell a division in opinions and this is like when jack wanted to move to the caves and sayid wanted to stay on the beach. but conclusively, i think you are right. jack will leave the island before the show ends probably, and there will still be ongoings on the show. like let's say he's gone for season 5 and 6. but that's not something i read anywhere. if they want to have some sort of continuity and kill the slow dragging out that they were criticized so much for in season 2 they would have to end the arc they started at the end of season 3 by this season. or change what it meant to something else.

so has anyone been watching the missing pieces? imo they could have been done way better. these just add layers to characters that will only really be relevant upon re-watching the series. with a few exceptions of course. one of my favorite ones were the one with jack and ben playing chess, and the one with juliet and michael in which they discuss walt's... "powers" i guess.

also, anyone followed the new lost ARG? it's called "Find815" and basically it's about the boyfriend of one of the flight attendants who tries to find the missing plane. so far in the game, he's on a boat with a VERY secretive crew who are heading to the sunda trench to look for the black rock. there is a guy on the boat who keeps reminding the captain of "his employer's wishes". it's turning out sort of interesting so far.

the latest mobisode. imo maybe the most interesting so far, minus the one with juliet and michael talking about walt's "powers".

whether or not christian shepard is dead is something they will address this season. they have said that they will specifically deal with it. i wonder what's up. that's probably the smoke monster though like yemi, kate's horse and other things.

i find it very funny that the smoke monster tries to "help" people as that is what it seems to be doing.

OK, just watched it. Good episode, I like the way they handled the flash forward. I wonder who's in the "Oceanic 6". Obviously it's not just the people in Jack's faction, since Hurley was there. I wonder what happened to Jack for him to go from "We're never going back" to "We have to go back".

And what the hell was Christian Shepherd doing in Jacob's cabin?! Madness.
