Film & TV Lost - The Season 4 Thread *SPOILERS*

So after the latest episode I'm predicting that more than the Oceanic 6 survive and future seasons will focus on some of these six returning to the island (like Jack said at end of Season 3) if they can after Locke moves it.

It's nice to see the numbers shit return to Hurley, that was almost as much of a gap in story telling as the black smoke was for a season or two.

Still left wondering about..

Jack's father in the shed?
Claire in the shed, why she go missing?
Implications of Jack/Claire revelation?
The story behind the guy who seems to transcend time who appeared on the island in Ben's early days and in last weeks ep?
Charlie?
Alex?
What happens to the 6 that requires a cover story for the press?
RF interference on the boat?

Good episode in my opinion; a bit of a return to form.

Great episode but I am kind of sad that Yin really dies. I mean, thats the feeling I get reading between the lines, that he really is dead and dies on the Island.

Does anybody else think that "moving the island" is probably less to do with a locational shift and more to do with a time shift?

i don't think so. i think the orchid is a station that controls all that has to do with time and space shift. for the island, or when ben goes to tunisia, for example. when he said move the island, i do think that simply means, physically move it. when you're aiming for an invisible bulls-eye you don't have to move it far for everyone to miss it entirely. but i think that time is a factor in what ben said, that it's dangerous and unpredictable. i think the danger and unpredictability factor has to do with time.

sun and jin on the boat, hurley with ben. now i dont remember but didnt kate and jack get caught by the others? didnt jack and sawyer go to get hurley? continuity error? am i mixing things up? either way, they're all really scattered, i'm really wondering about next episode. oh, and who the fuck does save em?

don't be so sure.

honestly, i don't understand why anyone has been worried about the people on the island. i always figured that these are just six of all the people. their importance will diminish. we're going back to the island. only when other people started voicing their groundless worries did i start worrying too :p i can't really know, but i don't think Jin is dead. i think most of everyone who doesn't get off are still alive on-island. i know for a fact there's people still on the island anyway.

however, next episode reveals who was in the coffin in the last episode of last year. i bet some super strange reveal. knowing ben is in tunisia in the future, maybe it's ben. maybe all his travels to the real world to have sayid kill for him were done in the past. it's supposed to be a shocker, whoever it is.

and again, i loved how the Others returned. i love that they had a stakeout in the hills sending flash messages with a mirror. And all the guns. I love how Richard did the typical Other-like "don't worry, don't be scared, i'm not gonna harm you just kidnap all your women and psyche you down. oh btw, we're on your side although all your instincts tell you otherwise. put down the gun, be one of the good guys"-type fashion. then, as soon as kate and jack weren't going for it, "i said put your guns down!". during season 3 a lot of people said the Others suddenly became so human-like, their mystery was gone. Although I never thought so from looking at their apparent social structure, most people bitched that the Others weren't mysterious and cool anymore. Fuck that. People just make their minds up too fast, they hadn't seen the full picture yet. It's like starting to call some catchy phrase played-out before people even start using it. The others were prematurely maljudged, I'm glad they're coming back to the story.

I think Jin is dead for two reasons.

1.) When at the press conference Sun is asked how her husband died, everybody turned to look at her like "oh fuck I hope she doesnt snap and tell the truth instead of sticking to the story." She of course says that he never got off the plane, and everybody looks relieved yet they all seem generally sorry for her loss, at least thats how I saw it.

2.) Sun is pissed at her father, and she clearly states that he is one of two men responsible for his death. Its a strange point to make if they are covering up the fact that he is alive; why say one of two men? That implies to me that he really is dead. She blames her father for putting them there and the other man must be the one that actually killed him.

I think Jin dies saving Sun and the baby. It fits his character arch, and someone needs to die soon, and he isnt really doing all that much story wise right now.

I don't see that as an impossible scenario.

My theory is that Sun's control over her father's company and her access to money and resources will play a role in getting back to the island in the future if Jack gets his way. We don't yet know what's at stake and why only six people get to leave, although we may have a picture there may still be a twist to it we don't know about. We also don't know why they seem to have a story ready, but none of them seem to like it. Maybe after Locke moves the island, they simply don't know what happens to it. But maybe Daniel somehow manages to explain it to one of them before it happens, seeing as how he knows about the Orchid already. It is possible that Jin is still dead though, we'll see.

Well yeah. Since Lost promoters normally make a point out of the fact that someone "major" will die in an episode in the promos that air the week before, so it's not really a spoiler anymore. They want you to know so you'll worry to death about who it is. So yeah, it's a finale, I really don't know the significance of who it is or what happens, but for one you learn who is in the coffin at the end of season 3. That means someone have to die. The episode description says something about the showdown between the Lostaways and the freighter people will continue, meaning there'll probably be a climax... And I wouldn't be surprised if someone died.

* Christian Shepard is a fucking DICK, lmao
* Sayid = straight G
* Sun is going to fuck shit up
* Walt doesn't know... damn
* Where'd Juliet pull the liquor from?
* Octagon
* What are the "bad things" and why are they his fault?
* How did the Spurs blow their lead?
* There's no singular WTF moment like WE HAVE TO GO BACK!!!! but overall I think it's the strongest season finale of the show so far.

Brilliant episode. My questions:

If Jin survives, where the fuck is he going to be? The freighter's gone, the island's gone... he's gonna be stranded in the middle of the ocean. Same goes for Faraday, who I really hope we get to see again.

I guess when Ben said that "all of you" need to go back, he meant the crash survivors, which would include Walt. Interesting to see if he joins the cast next season.

What's going to happen to the remaining Losties? Sawyer, Juliet, Rose & Bernard - plus C.S. Lewis and Miles. Is Locke going to offer an olive branch, or are they going to be in contention with Locke's group?
