I don't know actually. Because we don't have any American cars on the roads here. I am more likely to see a 69 Mustang than any American cars from the last 20 years. We drive on the other side of the road to you, so your cars aren't suited here.

If they are improving, and they make right hand drive models, I am sure that we will start seeing them here. First things first though, the handling will need improving as our roads are nowhere near as nice or as straight as yours.

Well, if you have Opels and Holdens, those are still GM cars. Ford is still an American company, and you for sure have Fords in the UK. You don't have Chevrolets? I think I've seen some models in the UK that we didn't even have here. It was one of those smaller, economy cars.

Chevrolet bought Daewoo, that's why there are those smaller Chevrolets in Europe. They are Chevrolet-branded Korean cars.

Truth be told probably about 80% of cars in Europe are European (depends on where you go they are German, French or Italian) or Japanese. I think Germans and the Japanese make the best cars.

There are many more American cars in America but that's pretty normal, just like there are more French cars in France and they suck probably even more. I agree that there are a lot of great things outside of America that Americans don't know or appreciate, Europe is much more eager to accept American stuff, even when it sucks - although that seems to slowly change.

Those are Moto's patents. The only way Apple would have to pay Samsung is if they bought them from Moto. Licensing the patents to Samsung wouldn't do anything. That's my understanding at least.

Now, I can definitely see Google gifting those patents to Samsung but even then I think Samsung would just get paid and not take any good legal action.

I dont see why Google would gift the patents to Samsung, Samsung isnt Android loyal, they've already shown support for Windows 8. Google is better off keeping them to keep making money off them.

Fords are very popular in the UK. But they are completely different cars in the UK as to those in the US, even if they have the same name.

Yes, but not very often. I prefer MS Windows a LOT more, especially Windows 7. I know that OSX is a bit fancy, but those launchers can be downloaded other OS's too. I was thinking of getting one for Ubuntu, but the Unity one isn't too bad. It's simple enough and looks okay and means less stuff using the storage.

1. I bought the Google Nexus 7 Tablet. This thing is AWESOME. Best tablet I've ever played with and it's so freaking cheap. I bought it from Office Depot for 189$ (with a 10$off coupon for purchases over 50$ that I received after I had bought.. Pepsi the day before). It's small and lightweight but it only looks too small when in store. In hand it feels just right. You can easily type while holding the tablet vertically which isn't the case with 10 inch tablets.
It's perfectly smooth. The UI and Google's apps are at least as smooth as the Ipad.
Also, all the free content that it comes with (magazines, movies) and 25$ Google Play that I received.. man, this was my best Electronic device purchase that I made this year.

2. I'm on T-mobile's 30$/month pre-paid plan in the US. It's great so I recommend it to anyone who wants a lot of data (5gb a month at 4G speeds, then it switches to Edge).
To get it you need to order a new sim card from t-mobile.com for $0,99 with free shipping and activate it online, since it only works with new activations. You can transfer your number easily though.
It also comes with free, unlimited texts and 100 outgoing minutes (unl incoming but I'm not 100% sure about that one) and 10c a minute if you go overboard. I think it's a perfect plan for most smartphone guys.
Bad thing for me is, that it works only with EDGE on my Xperia Arc because of T-mobile's 1900mhz 3G (instead of 2100 which most of the world uses and international phones work with). If I had known I'd get the 30$ unlimited with 2G data.

Aren't most Android phones capable of running on all bands? Quad band, is it called? I was thinking about getting the SG3 unlocked and doing the $30 plan you were talking about. But if there's gonna be issues with getting data, then it's a deal breaker for me. I need 3G, or better.

So... it looks like a 3G version of the Nexus 7 is coming in approx. 6 weeks. This is exactly what I wanted and I may decide to get the N7 afterall.

I'm just considering the possibility that the new Nexus tablet next year is like 10 months away approx and will most likely have a 3G version on launch, so would it be worth waiting for that? Maybe. I don't kmow.

Thoughts on this?

Still haven't found the need to upgrade my tablet from a year ago. My $100 makeshift Android tablet still holds me over to this day. The only thing it lacks is a working camera and mic under Android. Otherwise, under webOS, both work. Hopefully they get those working well soon.

Any phone with 1900mhz 3G will work. The SGS3 has it because it's penta-band, as are most new Android smartphones.
My Xperia Arc runs 3G over 2100mhz and only the US version runs on 1900mhz, that's what causes my 3G problem. EDGE on T-mobile is good though, fortunately.
