Technology Android

i dont even play games anymore. i was always into the more simple graphic brain/puzzle games. the most graphical game ive played is that car one which kind of resembles ridge racer. thunder something - and it was okay back then, on android 2.1 - G1.

i really hate the text message memory full notification that rejects all incoming messages unless you free up some memory. i also hate that it vibrates. i hate vibration on phones with crap batteries. i have cleared the app cache, dalvik cache, uninstalled an app or two and also rebooted the phone. it works occasionally, even after deleting some messages. its a short-term fix until the message eventually reappears. experimental rom.

After looking at some of the screenshots of Gingerbread, doesn't look to be too different from Froyo. Guess 3.X will be the big one then.

I hope we'll be able to change the color of some of the shit with Ging, that bright green is uggggly

Alright alright lets just say this. One of the common causes of a phone being bricked has no been fixed. Therefore when that problem happens it's not necessarily bricked anymore even though it god damn fucking is if you don't jtag

So there are new radios new kernels, man im so lost with this shit now

Best go to XDA and ask on there. People on there are more knowledgable about these kinda things and people figure out the "best" after extensive testing. They'll even have links there.

This is welcome news.

Lol i know man I've been up on xda since I had an htc dash who knows how fucking long ago.

I just get cautious when I flash a new radio cus that can actually brick your phone if shit doesn't match with whatever kernel you're going to use. In my case I plan on changing em both but I have to go dig around xda to see what is what that's why I was saying I'm lost. Devs are so sick on xda though that you can unbrick your phone now, I've never had to do it but people say it's really difficult so i don't even want to fucks with that.

If I'm not wrong, I think "brick" is a misnomer for a lot of other things that go wrong with your phone. I think once a phone is bricked, it can not simply be "unbricked."

I could be wrong, but I used to throw the term around a lot too, and incorrectly classified small snafus as being "bricked."

Maybe that's changed. XDA devs certainly are smart, hard-working people. But I think bricked phones were done for, unless sent back to the manufacturer.

A bricked phone is a phone that has no use. Apart from, possibly, as a brick.

If you can bring it back it isn't bricked. But, in the parts it may have been bricked, but there is now a way to "unbrick" it. Which means... It isn't bricked.

Jtagging any device, be it phone, console, satellite receiver.... Is a fucking pain....!

I always read the instructions several times and make sure I understand it all. I have never bricked any device I have fucked with the firmware on. I've had issues where my device has been useless for a while, but I have always brought it back.....

I got my ROM from XDA. I rooted from XDA instructions. Most of my kernels were from XDA.

I will not be changing my rom until 2.3 is available. Then I want the Cyanogenmod Rom.....

Playstation Phone running Gingerbread motherfuckers.

The PlayStation Phone in Action [VIDEOS])

Sony has yet to confirm the existence of the PlayStation Phone, but the highly anticipated device has now hit YouTube in a series of videos showing off the gaming phone and its Android interface.

The videos, posted to YouTube earlier today and unearthed by Engadget, provide the clearest picture yet of the device. It sports 512 MB of RAM, a 1GHz Snapdragon processer and a touchpad designed for gaming. Its biggest feature though is that it runs Google’s Android OS.

The first video highlights the device’s Android interface (we’re trying to figure out if it’s running Android 2.1 “Froyo” or Android 2.2 “Gingerbread”) as well as its overall look and feel (it’s sleek). The second video dives into the actual PlayStation app, which houses the phone’s games. It’s the first time we’ve seen the PlayStation app in action.

Unfortunately, the videos don’t reveal a lot of new information, but after watching them, we want the PlayStation Phone even more. Check out the videos below:

This is a serious win for Android visibility.

Huh?

They made a slight slip there.

^They said that it won't. There'll be new games exclusively for that phone. Exclusive section in the market etc. I suppose that's what that app is for.

Yeah, the text in that article was kinda lame. There was much better text on some of the Android sites that posted it, but I used Mashable because their video links were YouTube and the other sites used proprietary flash players that I couldn't embed.

Mashable obviously doesn't know enough about Android to be able to tell that it's Gingerbread....I'm sure it even shows it in the video at one point. Plus, you can see the new Gingerbread UI (Black nav bar etc)
