What is your idea of the afterlife?

The brain is still alive for at least 30 minutes after death.(its still giving signals)
thats what i thought, i wonder how those 30 minutes would feel like... its obvious "your" still in there, maybe in a dream like state...

makes you wonder, when i was at my dads deathbed 20 minutes after he died, could he hear me? kinda strange.

I think the 30 minutes after death means the brain is slowly dying because its not getting oxygen (no heart to circulate blood), so you would be in a coma until your brain totally shuts down.

Also, dont parts of ur body still move after you've died coz the brain is stil sending messages to the body. For example, i saw one of the beheadings that happened last year(on net), and once the head had been cut, the mouth and eyes were still moving!! (RIP to those who were beheaded)

Also, another question about reincarnation... what if you're born with a disease coz you've been a bad person in a previous life, does that mean in ur next life, u wont have any illnesses coz you've already suffered for ur previous sins? Do 'good' people keep coming back as 'good' people?

fair enough.
that was a good question, I understand where you and minardi are coming, but the way I see it is just I just cant accept the fact that the disabled and diseased havent done anything to actually deserve what has happened to them, Allah aint forgetting noone.I either see them as being happier than us, sinned in their after life or actually have a "reserved seat" in heaven. In other words, there's either something good waiting for them after Judgement day or it's cause they've done wrong in their other life, that's if there really was something such as the afterlife.
None of those explanation make sense to me, but I suppose that if you have faith in a God, you have to justify it some how. This issue is one of the many things about God that don't make sense to me. Religion just doesn't seem to answer some important questions, in my opinion.

i just wonder how you can be born as a bad person, when when at the same time they say you either go to haven or hell for eternity...

Many people believe in Karma, that your actions today dictate what happens in your next life (Buddha put it as passing on a flame on to another candle).

yeah thats what you would say/think 500 years ago... "he has disabilities, He mustve been a mean person, and is now being punished" since they didnt know better...

to sad these speculations still live on today...

Like people thinking that some people will go to hell and some people will go to heaven right?

Probably irrelavent but...

"I got shot five times but i'm still breathin', livin' proof there's a GOD if you need a reason"

I'm not implying anything here nor am I using a Tupac qoute to strengeth my case. However i'm saying people with silimar beliefs to me understand why I used that qoute. It's sort of like a person who claims he saw something occur but has no proof for it; I know GOD exsists because of the little or even huge things I go through in life. And I can not describe the things using the very primitive English language because to describe those events and the things i've seen and heard would take a much more deeper connection then words. Its true some people slip in the toilet and die and some people get shot five times;point blank range and survive to only produce an ever lasting legacy that will live on for many more generations to come.

Peace Be Upon All Of You.

to all those who believe death signifies your end, your end of existence in every way...what is stopping you from living out any sick, violent, happy, joyous fantasy you have ever imagined? You guys should be the most free humans on earth...whats holding you back?

Death has been described as no brain signals. The brain controls all body functions, so when you die. Yes, apperently the brain is alive for another 30 mins. Maybe that is the tunnel we all tihnk about. Scientists say that the tunnels and light is just brain cells dying at an extremely rapid rate, so fast that to you see the electricity being shut off in the brain. (as you know, the brain supplys enough electricity as a couple of batteries).

For me though, I'm a spiritual man. I'm a born Christian and happy, but I seem to accept the Buddist explanation of the afterlife. The way it is, do as much for the greater good as you can so when you die and see God, he'll have to take you in. Hahahahaha

But seriously. When you walk home on a cool winter night and look at the moon and the stary night. You can't help but know, there's someone out there watching ya. No matter what lonely/sad situation you're in. There's someone past the myst of mystery taking care of ya and is trying to confort you. Next time your walking home at night from a long day at work or school just take the time to put your awareness to the fullest and absorb all the sounds, smells and sights around you. You'll know what I'm taking about.

Play some Pac too, that helps. hahaahaha

Well, for those who have sick or violent fantasies, there's still the consequences to face, like the law, or violent retribution from someone else.

For those with happy, joyous fantasies, if they involve other people, you still need their cooperation. You probably need money too.

The same thing that's stopping someone who believes in an afterlife is stopping those who don't. The law, the consequences, lack of money, others not cooperating, your conscience, etc. And for those whose fantasies don't involve any of that, then both kinds of ppl are equally free to pursue them.
