11/12 Premier League thread

Pavyluvchenko scores another 2 for Spurs today. He's done more for Spurs these last 2 days than Crouch has in the last couple of weeks. lol

Owen Coyle and away games don't mix ... actually Bolton and scoring doesn't mix.

Klasnic had a few good chances coming back from an injury, but else from that nothing. Elmander is such a flop lol. He makes Balaban look world class.

Looking at most of their starting 11 they are under-average. Else from Lee, Klasnic who's prob going back to Ligue 1 next year or picked up by another club, Jaaskelainen who I think is a good keeper, but since the back line is ass, he is pretty much the only line of defending, and Gardner who has his rare days, like Cahill.

^^they also have Wilshere and Weiss on loan who are both excellent prospects but dont fit with the tactics they play. I thought Coyle would get them playing football but i guess its not possible with the players he has.

Wilshere had like 1 start I think, or was he a sub? Anyways... Dunno much about Weiss.

Meh, Bolton is the typical small English club. Play long ball and hope the lone forward can make things happen. That style just doesn't work anymore. You can see the smaller clubs get demolished in Europe by the likes of mediocre Spanish clubs.

Spain > England

^^yea Wilshere played against Man City a couple of weeks ago. Weiss is a very good. he is only 18 i think. Plays for the Slovakian national team and is on loan from Man City. Destroyed Northern Ireland in one of the qualifiers.

yea i agree. the lower Spanish teams are much better than their equivalents in the premiership.

Talking about Pompey hitting administration on CNN... this came up.

Which other Premier League clubs are in debt?

It would be easier to single out which clubs aren't in debt. Because of the huge amounts of money awash in the Premier League many top flight teams spend prize money and television revenue before they get it.

A recent UEFA report showed the total debt of Premier League clubs is over $5 billion, which equates to 56 percent of the total across Europe. The current Premier League champions Manchester United, owner by the Glazer family, are currently more than $1 billion in debt, a greater sum than the cumulative total owed by all 36 clubs in the top two divisions in Germany. As for the other top clubs, Liverpool's debt has soared to $360 million under American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett while Chelsea's owner, the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, has wiped off $517 million of the London club's debts through his personal fortune.

That's fucked up. lol.

i read that 56% of english clubs are in debt or something like that.

Liverpool need new owners asap. Those bastards are the sole cause of that debt. Its not as if Liverpool are paying huge wages either. Gerrard is on big money as you'd expect but the rest are pretty reasonable. Liverpool's Net spend this year is about +10 million.

George Gillett sold the Montreal Canadians for like 300 MIL or something, the fuck happened with the money? lol. Did he address the debt with it?

Why do most of these debts come to be when Americans start owning football clubs? lol. Mother fuckers stink.

Can't be too surprised with all the debts though, especially when you have average players are making 50 000/WK or having a transfer value of 20 MIL when they'd be worth 4 MIL in Spain, France or Germany. lol
