The Official NBA Thread 2011-12

Too bad that didn't count. That's a sick ass shot. One handed... smh.

How about them spurs? Haha, i was watching the game while at the gym. Soon as nowitzki hit that 3 in OT i was like, 'it's over.'

Pau Gasol is the Lakers's most important player. I thought the Staples Center crowd's non-reaction to his return was pretty wack, but then again, Lakers fans are generally terrible people.

I'm pretty pumped for Wizards-Thunder tonight. My guys against:
- two homegrown guys (Durant, Green)
- a bitter ex-Wizard (Etan) who hates one of our starters (Haywood) ****
- turnover king/MIP candidate Russell Westbrook (personally i'm rooting for ex-Hoya ex-robot ROY HIBBERT)

**** They hate each other because Eddie Jordan is one of the worst people in the world at setting up a rotation. Look at the 76ers' bigs' minutes on a game-by-game business: WTF? I'm glad that overthinking motherfucker is out of D.C.

^lol no ones stopping durant. i hope arenas goes off for 40.

lmao at calling hibbert a robot.

i read like a month ago eddie jordan and arenas were beefing, any truth to that?

i think elton brand is fuckin the 76ers more than eddie jordan

I heard the Knicks rejected Iverson lololol. Nobody wants him. What's he gonna do now? Miami?

After months of growing discord and mistrust between the Houston Rockets and their once-franchise player, Tracy McGrady(notes) and coach Rick Adelman engaged in an emotional and sometimes loud closed-door confrontation about the star’s uncertain status on Wednesday night, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The argument was precipitated when McGrady arrived at the Target Center in Minneapolis so determined to have a substantive discussion with his coach that he dressed in his game uniform and undertook his pregame routine as though he had been activated after missing 41 straight games with microfracture surgery on his left knee.

As McGrady walked back to the locker room after shooting with his teammates on the court, he passed Adelman in a corridor and his appearance in uniform appeared to surprise his coach. The fact McGrady had asked the equipment manager to bring out his uniform – especially on the Nov. 18 date that he had recently told Yahoo! Sports was his target for a return – clearly had his coach’s attention.

McGrady understood he wouldn’t be activated on Wednesday night, but sources say T-Mac was willing to go to great lengths to push his coach closer to blessing McGrady’s return to the team.

Eventually, Adelman returned to the locker room and retreated with McGrady into an adjacent coach’s office. McGrady slammed the door behind him, a witness said, and that marked the start of a tense, sometimes loud exchange that could be heard in the locker room, sources said.

Tmac should be traded. He reportedly "doesnt know if the rockets still want him" lol.

lol knicks would rather have duhon starting, wow. the jazz own the knicks first round pick and its most likely gonna be a top 5 pick the way theyre playing. if you sign iverson, youll a couple of more games. i know their main problem is defense and iverson doesnt bring that but since when does dantonis team play defense?

i dont know if itll work with miami heat. you wade who holds the ball in his hand for 18 seconds out of the 24 lol.

i wonder how arts feelin about this one haha. i hope they buy out tmac contracts and he signs with the spurs.

Meh, i saw the part where he comes in. I personally dont think he's a good actor haha, based on what i saw.
I'm only a fan of CSI. The Miami and New York versions don't appeal to me in the slightest bit.

Great game from Gasol for sure. It sure feels a lot safer now that he's back. As one facebook user commented on Gasol's return, "Lakers now have the Pau-wer" :D

I thought the Staples Center crowd's non-reaction to his return was pretty wack, but then again, Lakers fans are generally terrible people.
This has been an issue discussed even on forum blue and gold. When celebrities have new movies, new girl-friends, new season's of TV shows, music LPs, which better time to do it than at a Lakers home game? Will Smith (self proclaimed I love Philadelphia my home-town, talking about floor seats) at a Lakers game? I mean, he's a great actor but even people in Philly talk about his face at Lakers games. Puffy at a Lakers game? C'mon. Most of these guys could probably care less about what's happening on the court. Lakers fans are still to figure out why the atmosphere at the Staples Center gets pretty lame. Granted, it does get pretty annoying when the team are down and the crowd are not into it. I also think there was some booing from the crowd during the game vs. Rockets which handed LA their 2nd straight loss. Didn't make sense to me. By the way, Lakers fans aren't so terrible once you get to know them

As for Iverson, man I don't know. I was looking forward to him proving critics wrong but this one has gone pretty bad for him. Even New York don't want him? Man, that doesn't do much for confidence as much as he may put on a strong face and strong words. It was bad enough he was ending up in Memphis in the first place.

I'll be watching the T-Mac situation as well.

^I've been to the Staples Center, and it got pretty boring in there. The atmosphere does suck, as you said. We need a Utah-type crowd. Those mormons got nothin else to do in Salt Lake but go to Utah games.

^^ You've just killed one of my ambitions of going to watch the Lakers play at the Staples Center.

What happened on here today? No mention of the Orlando Celtics game? No fans from either team? Vince Carter put up 29 shots, scored 26pts and was the key behind the Orlando win. Celtics shot 34.5 as a team from the floor.

magic are one of the best teams in league. imo theyre def the best in the east. carter is a lethal scorer and just as much clutch as hedo. they didnt lose anything in the offseason.

LOL! at the stock pic they used of Marv. Considering what a freak he is, the picture doesn't fit the character. Marv vs 50 cent, yeah....that's a likely one :D

I just saw that Nate Robinson clip on the ESPN website. I was wondering why the coach was so mad. The buzzer had gone anyway and, it was harmless shot. He got benched for the game because of that? That's tough.
