pistons suck really bad... how do u go from an elite time for what, 6 years? then to pure garbage. stucky wasnt ready to take over the pg duty, maybe they wouldve been better off keeping iverson in the startin line up.

sheed sign with the spurs in the summer

the pistons downfall was when Dumars traded their leader to denver. they should have kept Billups and never fired Saunders. Joe never gave him a chance. Curry needs to be fired in the offseason.

yeah it could happen Sheed with the Spurs. i have a funny feeling Sheed signs with someone like Phoenix in the summer. We'll see what happens

I was just talking with my friend about that today. I told him how the Pistons are the Eastcoast version of the Phoenix Suns. They made bad trades, and now they're suffering. They were both contenders 2 years ago, and now they fell off hard.

yea but i think a big trade like that was inevitable for the pistons becuz of the failure to win another ring. there were plenty of trade talk involving all 5 piston starters last summer. when dumars became gm or whatever he always had an eye on iverson and wanted him back in 2001 but sixers refused.

the trade could turn out to be beneficial at the end becuz they might sign chris bosh if he doesnt resign and boozer if he opts but theyll still be lackin a true leader.

the would be interesting if sheed would sign with the suns but highly doubt it. suns are trying to get younger. nash/shaq/hill are old. i think theyre gonna blow up the roster and start over with nash and amare.

i heard shaq might get traded this summer for tyson chandler. instant improvement for the hornets imo.

great comparison. both teams are hard to coach. suns are little whiny babies, big fuckin deal your coach got fired (because his systemd dont work) and pistons are too smart to learn, they think they know the game better than anybody. i think thats why curry hasnt been succesful and throw iverson in there, you have like 6-7 players that arent coachable.

Yeah Deke injured his ligaments in his left knee...

In the locker-room conference with the journalists, he said "It's over." with tears in his eyes...

I'm sad to see Deke leave like this...

Dikembe Mutombo was jockeying for position with Greg Oden on a rebound late in the first quarter Tuesday night, and in an instant everything changed.

Mutombo, who has been a defensive spark for the Rockets for 5 seasons, fell to the floor. He grabbed his knee and rolled around in obvious pain.

The Rockets said it was a knee strain, but you knew it was more than that. An emotional Mutombo confirmed it after the game when asked if his season was over.

"No," said Mutombo. "It's over for me for my career.

"I might need surgery," said Mutombo. "I'm going to be around for as far as we can go in the championship run. I'll be with my teammates in support and give them the same love that they give to me, but for me, basketball... it's over."

Mutombo said he was very disappointed, but put it in perspective.

"I cried so much about it when I was laying on the floor," said Mutombo. "But when I got in the locker room, kids talked about I need to be positive and thank God for the wonderful 18 years I had."

It's a huge blow to the Rockets for this playoff run, but even that seems too small of a description ... this is loss is much bigger than just that.

Deke came to the Rockets in 2004 having been discarded by the Knicks and Bulls for virtually nothing. His career was supposedly over then and he shocked everyone by becoming a key piece of a very strong defensive team in Houston. Year after year, Deke came back and showed he still had it.

His patented finger-wag after a blocked shot made him a massive fan favorite, but is more than just a player. His charity work and Herculean efforts in building a hospital in Africa are practically legendary now.

Great player. Great man. Dikembe Mutombo -- so painful to see you go out like this, but you will be sorely missed in Houston.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady has never advanced to the second round of the playoffs in his 12-year NBA career despite seven trips to the postseason.

And now that McGrady is out with a knee injury, it looks like the Rockets will advance to the second round without him.

So McGrady, the playoff expert, had plenty to say about the postseason during this radio interview on 790 The Zone. McGrady said the Cleveland Cavaliers are not that good. When asked which team will win it all, McGrady was quick with his answer.

"Lakers. (Host: That easy, again?) It's no knock on Cleveland, I think Cleveland's gonna get there... Cleveland to me is really not that good. If you take what the Celtics did last year... You knew, they were either gonna get to the finals, or they were gonna win it. You can't really say the same thing about the Cavaliers. Although, they had the best record in the league this year, a lot of people like, 'OK, they havin' a great year, but we don't know if they can win the championship.' They really didn't do anything on the road with the elite teams in the league, they lost, they had a bad record when they went to face the elite teams in the league. I think they're a good team, but I don't think they're ready to take the next step."

Really T-Mac?

i predict that the Jazz will win tonight, Lakers take Gm 4 saturday and win at home Monday. i am confident in the Lakers but im being realistic on the series.
