..Tupac's legacy?
Most people here say it's handled by wrong people. So who in your opinion should represent Pac 12 years after his death? Should it be someone who he knew and is popular now? Or maybe someone totally different, for example rappers who rap about similar, deep things? Should it be an underground rapper or a mainstream rapper (because Pac was mainstream) considering the level of mainstream rappers these days..?

His fans like yourself. Take a small change and keep doubling it and doubling it. This can be done without any sort of a leader figure or a representative.

What do you want out of this representative of 2Pac? To carry 2Pac's legacy? What is that exactly?

Of course I do but I also mean representing by other rappers, carrying the legacy in various media - representing in the radio/tv/concerts etc.

What I also mean is that other rappers who passed away have their people who continue their legacy. Biggie has Puffy, Big Pun has Cuban Link and whole Terror Squad etc. while Pac who was "the greatest" of them then, now is the one who gets much less attention.

There were artists/writers before his time that Pac used for inspiration. Tupac took the bits and used his voice to express the ideas. I believe the same thing is happening to the artists that came after him.

Tupac is iconic. Tupac is going to find minds and hearts to occupy. I don't see a need for any rapper to carry on the torch.

How about - Biggie has Puffy, Pun has Cuban Link and Pac has his mama. Afeni for the win.

Sure he will always be in our hearts and many hearts of people in the future, that's for sure. But it would help if Pac's message was spread wider, if he was still the "cool" rapper to listen these days for kids, if he was heard these days, new material and such and if he had someone known who repped him well it wouldn't hurt him.

Yes so my point is that people say that his mama destroys his legacy. I know that she did a lot for him but in my opinion she doesn't have anough knowledge about rap and she hired wrong people to represent Pac. Many fans say the same, that's why I'm asking who should she hire.

the death row songs...suge should have own the rights to.

the pre deathrow songs...afeni should have own the rights.

those two should have worked together instead of being money hungry and court battles between the two. their lawyers should have came to an agreement on how pac's music will be handled. both agreed to keep the songs OG. make a few changes on guest appearances if they felt it was necessary. NO bullshit remixes like afeni is doing now.

Pac's sales come in and be divided between the two. But we all know that todays age every one is out to make the mighty dollar and everyone is greedy and out for there own.

i thought Suge did a good job with his part of Pac's unreleased material before Afeni controlled 100 percent. (The only bad album the nu-mixx klassics).

but its 12 yrs later you cant change ther past

Tupac is still the "cool" rapper to listen to.

I agree with what salty said, as long as you keep listening to him, what more is needed? Do we need someone like Puffy to shout out "RIP Pac" in every other track?

it looks like Susan Berg is carrying pac's legacy now...im hoping for OG's and that big budget music video and street promotion.

Pac created his own legacy with the inspiration of people before him, and the people in his life at the time of his era .. Noone can carry on such a burden of a legacy he created. Its too much of a role to play. People will expect the same quality as they did when he was around. And they will be very critical to that person just like they have with Afeni. Aint no way someone can walk in those shoe's. He branded himself, marketed his own unique iconic image, and copyrighted the words he was famous for spitting. It started and ended with him. All Afeni had to do was help push out his albums because thats what meant alot to 'Pac. She put out his albums just like he would of wanted and she was the only person to benefit from it. No SUge, no Deathrow, no artists who she felt were only around him at the time because of the hype he was getting. His true friends were those who were with him before and during his career. She didnt know who she can and cant trust. She's like most mothers. They dont always trust the friends you hang with do they? And this was no different from a mothers perspective. She did what she could with as clear conscience as possible. Im glad she handled it and noone else. She has given us some good albums regardless of what people think. Em disappointingly ruined it with Loyal to the Game, but apart from that i aint disappointed overall. Its as good as it will get without 'Pac here to inspire the track more than just the lyrics he gave. Cuz alot of kats know 'Pac was involved with the final cut if he didnt think it sounded right. Cant noone fulfill that apart from him and im glad noone tried to either.

Biggie and Pun werent as iconic as 'Pac hence why they need a champion to remind people they were great too, which noone can really deny. But 'Pac has millions around the world to carry out his legacy - and im proud to be one of them just like all y'all.

So who's gonna carry out his legacy? Us dude!!

yeah I agree to what you guys said. The point is that Pac's music is being fucked and his image is being destroyed. Someone should also rep him in the media the proper way, it wouldn't harm him.
