Why I ask? I've always liked Metallica but never "actively" owned their music (downloads (hehe), albums bought etc). Recently I borrowed by buddy's St. Anger cd and I think it's a very solid album. So I did the proper thing and bought it along with And Justice For All, figuring I'd give my old man a listen (he liked it
).
Now, even a blind golfball with 8 different debilitating diseases can spot the obvious difference between old Metallica and this, more or less self proclaimed, new Metallica.
So I'm wondering if the reason for a large part of Metallica's "original" fanbase to not like St. Anger has more to do with the fact that it's so different than the Metallica they know and love, and less with the idea that it's bad music. Because it may not be Metallica, St. Anger is a solid album. It's definitely not bad music.
If you think so I will come to your house and gangrape every 3rd person there (overcounts mean you get extra).
But really, do you not really like SA for it's differences or do you honestly think it's sucky music?
(I should've included a poll in this)
