Sp the LG G3 is £500 and it's probably the best phone out. Would anyone buy the Xiaomi Mi3 (unlocked) for £289? That would be really tempting at that price! They are on eBay.

I'm kinda tempted by the G3 and the OnePlus One. They're basically the same spec, but the LG has the QHD screen. The OPO has those sweet design materials though. And costs half the price.

I see. Still haven't been bothered to read up on it, but I read it was ATT exclusive, at least in the States? Sounds silly.

New, supposed Android 4.5/5.0 shots leaked on the Google I/O pages. Saw the thread on Reddit and didn't look too different, if at all.

Is there a certain time period when flagships come out, or are they all staggered throughout the year by different manufacturers to avoid direct conflict? Like movies usually flood in during the summer. Is it the same for phones? Or iOS and Android devices, in particular?

If I were looking to buy a phone around the holidays, will there be someone offering something top-notch at that point?

Oh of course. That's a given. I always pay attention to see how the competition changes. Maybe not so much for WP, though. I figured if it was right for me at this point, I'd have found out by now.

I need the iPhone's screen to be on-par with the S5's. I think it's ridiculous at this point that it's not at full HD. It's 1000-something x 640. I heard they'll make a bump in screen size again and hopefully they'll increase the resolution to where it needs to be.

Not the Apple thread, I know, but it seems like Tim Cook is taking away a lot of the snobbishness associated with Apple, starting with the pricing of Macs, like the $700 MBAs. I hope we see some more changes on the iPhone front so that the hardware matches the competition and Apple isn't suggesting to customers what they should think is "optimal" and best for them.

The iphone needs a radical design change. It looks like shit.
It does. And that's another thing I hope Tim Cook encourages, the change in design of all Apple products. The Macs are getting a tad bit stale, save for the Mac Pro, and the iPhone, though it feels solid and nice, it needs a new look.

Nothing radical, but something like the S2 to S3/4 design change.

My dad ended up buying iPads for his staff in the clinic. With everything turning electronic and the nurses under him working on his behalf at several other hospitals, they'll need them as they see patients.

4 iPad Mins, non-Retina. They were $199 each for a sale, so wasn't too bad. And he got the Air for himself. I haven't had to teach him shit as he just figured it all out on his own. Got our WSJ subscription on there too now.

What's everyone hoping comes out of the Android update? Google I/O is this upcoming week and there's talks of switching to completely ART. Some people are saying it'll take a while before apps incorporate it as devs are worried that it may "flop" and return back to what it is now.

Oh look! Apple is having another keynote.

People used to hate on Apple for using buzzwords. Looks like Google is doing the same. "Tremendous. Beautiful. Amazing."

I can't help but think I'm looking at iOS 7 right now.

Obviously I don't watch it, because why would you...! But... The reports out from the Google I/O all seem pretty good to me. A new version of Android, Android Auto. And that's just the start of the keynote.

The most interesting thing was Android Wearables. I watched the LG G Watch demo and was pretty impressed. I think I am sold on it and plan to get one with my next phone, if my next phone is an Android phone. But the Moto 360 looks so neat, but I liked the LG one better. Maybe I'll change my mind later.

Other than that, the only thing that made some noise were the two protestors that ended up getting carried out. I was watching it with my sister and I kept saying there was someone talking over or crossing-over of audio from another presentation. A couple hours later, The Verge had a report about what was going on.

Google is just as big of a dick as Apple or anyone else. Not sure why Apple/Jobs solely the bad rep.

Keynote was good. Android Auto and Android Wear should give Google a big head start on whatever Apple are doing. And the Android One program makes a lot of sense. Android TV looks good. The "L" release looks pretty stellar. Some people are already flashing the developer previews on their Nexus devices right now.

The Verge has an article about it - http://www.theverge.com/2014/6/26/5846824/android-L-preview-first-impressions-video-photos

I played with a G3 today courtesy of my homeboy who works for LG. I was very impressed. Definitely an impressive phone.

I may buy myself a G-Watch very soon. We'll see.

Anyone else upset iOS Hangouts users have had WiFi calling and we Android users don't?

Even with Google apps, iOS gets the better version. That's cold.
