Those look great.

How has LG's camera been on the N4 and N5/G2? Are they adequate or are they one of the best ones on an Android phone?

The G2 camera is amongst the best. Slightly below the S4 camera in daylight shots, but with OIS, which means less blurry shots in less than perfect conditions, which is awesome.
Nexus phones have a cut down version usually to save costs - those cameras are just about average - not great but never bad.
Actually the N4 and N5 had best cameras out of all Nexus phones for their times, while also being the cheapest Nexus phones, which is a pretty damn good achievement.

If the G3 camera gets improved over the G2 more than just slightly that'd be great. If it's similar I'd say it's good enough. Out of all this year's flagships it'd still be just behind the SGS5 and Xperia Z2.

The camera is a big deal for me. If it's below the S5's, then there is not much else I'm looking for that would really push me towards either side. I'd probably stick to what I know and choose the S5 in that case.

Well, the S5 camera is comparable to S4 camera. There are slightly more details captured because of limited field of view due to going 16:9 (inconvenient except you wanna view pictures only on your phone) but processing is inferior. Night shots are slightly better.
The G2 still has upper hand in many aspects due to OIS - for instance you'll be left with less blurry shots and more decent shots and night, which means really a lot since my S4 takes many blurry shots making night mode unusable unless you can completely steady your hand, and even then it's hard to completely get rid of blur.
If it comes to pure picture quality the G2 is the tinest bit behind the S4, but in hindsight those tiny differences are not worth losing OIS, which helps a great deal on the G2. Both phones have cameras of same league though in general.
I believe if the camera on G3 has improved, it might be the most all-around decent one. If not, and it turns out not to be much of an upgrade, still it'll likely be in the same league with the S5.

I played with the S5 though and personally I wouldn't buy that phone. Samsung sacrificed too much in name of water resistance, especially if it comes to size and general feel - even if the back cover looks better. Given a choice, I'd take the S4 over S5.

I'm actually considering getting the G3 when it comes out, after the first reviews come in and it turns out decent, which I have little doubt about at this point.
I'd just miss AMOLED and frankly it's not that much of an improvement over my S4. Mostly I'd like the OIS camera - I hope also the sensor and processing are improved, which would make it perfect. I like the design though, and the small bezels. Even G2 looks awesome, just the cheap looking plastic sets it back. Looks like LG addressed that with metal. And it looks pretty great that way.

How would 1080p gaming look on a 4K screen? If I played a PS4, would it not look like shit upscaled to 4K?

I'm planning on upgrading my phone after my boards. I feel like two or three months, at least, will have passed since the G3's release making it a bit of a stretch, unless the contract price goes down by $50-$100. At that point, I may just wait for the next best thing at that point. We'll see how the iPhone 6 is, although it's screen resolution isn't full HD, so that might be an issue for me, coming from an S3 which only has ~200 fewer pixels.

I was going to argue. But I don't think I can handle a 100 page reply about cpu gflops.

I am looking to buy a 4K TV. Tempted by an LG one. I know they are cheap, but in my opinion, they aren't too far behind Samsung in the higher end of the cheap.

They're sometimes pretty good. It all varies from one model to another. To me I'd be lacking 4K content at this point.

To answer Coonie's question - full HD content such as from PS4 will look just like if it was "just" a full HD TV. Wouldn't be blurry or anything, since 4K is essentially 4x1080P. Each 4 pixels would display exactly 1 "pixel" of video with no interpolation.

If it comes to the S4 - actually the CPU is the biggest jump. Snapdragon 800/801 is mostly better because it's not only faster, but also more energy efficient than Snapdragon 600 due to masterpiece power gating. Other than that, just OIS camera and nicer design. LG's software isn't as good, and I'd lose AMOLED, so I'd be making sacrifices as well.

Another one on the news. There's a fucking 4K, 50 inch TV powered by Android, announced for 640 USD, by Xiaomi - the Android phone maker from China.

I've got big hopes for Xaomi and I'm hoping they break into other markets successfully. I heard that their products will simply be called 'Mi' in some markets as it would be easier to pronounce and identify. The price of that TV is very good and I would really be interested in buying that. Very stylish too.

Does anyone have a G2? I'm still not sold on the buttons on the back, how are they?

My nephew has one. I found it very comfortable to use, it feels a bit awkward the first time but you get used to it.

My friend who is a sales rep for LG got me VIP tickets to the Prince show last monday at the LG Arena here in Birmingham. I asked him about the G3 and the G Watch. He said they're supposed to launch at the same time and there will be deals here in the UK where you get a free G Watch if you take out a G3 contract.

Been a long time since we all posted our home screens. Mine's pretty overloaded right now, but I like having quick access to a lot of things.
