Need some advice peeps.

So I sold my old laptop on Craigslist to this lady the other day, went and met her, knocked $50 off the price, cool. She called me the day after saying the battery won't hold a charge. I explained to her and also in the CL ad that I don't use the battery I just keep it plugged in. I do this so I don't need to use the battery so it lasts longer. When we got there the computer turned off pretty quickly so we plugged it in to her car and it worked, she bought it. So talking to her today I said it could very well be dead and told her a new battery costs roughly 50-60 dollars, then proceeded to provide her with an Amazon link to a new one that was 44.95. She said thanks and decided to take it to a computer repair shop to see what was wrong. She said they couldn't tell if it was the battery or the charger, the guy told her the charger might not be giving enough power to charge the battery only enough to run the comp, which I don't even know if that's possible, Masta I'm looking at you on that. She said she found one for 150 dollars or something and is giving me the choice to either give her 150 dollars back or let her return the laptop. First off I don't plan on letting her return the comp and then there is no way im going to buy a charger or a battery for it when she bought it. I could be nice and say I'll pay for half, which I think would be fair. I'm not really sure of Colorado law but I don't think I have to do anything. I know she can take me to small claims court but that costs more money than a new battery would. I plan to just send her a nice email apologizing again about the problem and providing her with links to a charger and a battery and some ideas on how to find out which one is faulty and then go from there.

Has anyone been is a situation like this before?

What would you do?

I said "The battery is in good condition since I do not use it and just keep the laptop plugged in."

So I said it's in good condition but when we met face to face we tried to turn it on with just the battery and it didn't turn on. I said the battery is most likely dead and it will work with it plugged in so we plugged it in to her car and it booted but it switched back and forth from battery to plug and it showed that on the screen. So I said it's probably just like that because of the car plug in. She said it's cool and bought it. I didn't know it was dead at the time.

Well, if it comes to the battery problem there's no way in hell I'd pay her $150. You could buy an used battery for like 20-40$ and a charger is usually even cheaper than that (I bought one for a premium Lenovo laptop for less than 30$, in Hawaii). 100$ would easily cover a new battery AND a charger. If it comes to it "not giving enough power" that's possible, but I'd say unlikely . It might be a lot of things really - battery circuit problems, battery dead, car plug not giving enough power (for some reason that sounds like it's the most likely case here) etc. If it's the original charger that came with the laptop it's close to impossible that it's not giving enough power to charge the battery yet enough to run the laptop (if plugged at home, not from a car).

That's what I figured. To me it sounds like it's just the battery. She told me she charged it over night and got like 10 minutes of time from it.

So if I tell her just to buy a new battery and provide her links to cheaper ones since she is obviously looking at the wrong places then I think that's fair. I knocked off 50 already and I was selling it under other prices just to get rid of it quick. I'm sure she will be a little upset but f that. To me it seems she made an impulse buy and wants to get her money back. That's not my fault

Buy her a cheap charger and batter from eBay. Shouldn't be too far North of $50. Hopefully it's made shittily in China and blows up in her face and burns her house down. Problem solved.

Also, it's cutting it close, but if you guys want invites to a private torrent site that is decent, I have one for What.CD and SuperTorrents is just straight up having open signups.

Only gonna give the What.cd away to someone that has proof of a good ratio on another legitimate torrent website. Because if you snatch and run torrents, it fucks my reputation up, somehow, and I could get banned too.

My parents are going to a party. My sister and I will be together so I'll probably make some finger food and watch Netflix with her. No guarantee I'll make it to midnight. I usually don't give a fuck at that point.

My new year's was funny. I went to the worst house party I've ever been to. You know, those stereotypical eastern european parties with silly people yelling, listening to extremely loud and tasteless techno, kicking the shit out of a random person every 10 minutes and doing random meth dances while consuming more alcohol than you could drink in a month? That was almost it.
Needless to say we instantly moved to my lady-friend's house and it was fun afterwards. Actually very fun, it turned out to be one of the best new year's parties, and it was with close friends only.

Hey people. Start posting more, who cares what it is, just do it
Well, I watched LSU beat itself last night against Clemson. Very upsetting to watch, considering I'm an SEC fan since Auburn ate a dick this year. Georgia and South Carolina made up for it, big time, with huge wins today. Just hoping Texas A&M and Florida don't let us down, and most of all, not Alabama. It's weird rooting for a rival, but Notre Dame can eat a dick. Here in Chicago, there are tons of ND fans/alum because South Bend is only a couple hours away. Smart school, but the SEC National Championship win streak coming to an end? Ain't nobody got time for that.
