This shooting has been bothering me all day. Obviously it's fucking sad but people's reactions in general irk me. The way it's all over the news, sensationalizing, turning the shooter into a celebrity of sorts. The gun control argument. The only way taking away guns would work is if we completely removed them, but illegal gun sales will still be there so that isn't an option. I'm 99% sure that if as a country we outlawed guns we'd see killings drop year over year until we were somewhere a little higher than the UK's murder rate. Give more people guns, more death, correct answer, no. I personally feel that banning all guns is the best option at the moment but this is amerikkka and people love their guns. I wish we helped people with mental problems more, Metta World Peace might be the only person I see day in and day out working on this, that says a lot a bout how we as a society view those with mental health issues. Shit, we can't even help soldiers coming back from war adequately. Then the contradiction. Gun loving nra type mother fuckers. I'm keeping my guns come and try to take them from me type attitude. Then you bring up the mental health issue and it turns to that would be more government spending lynch that nigger bs. People need help, and them being helped is the only way we can try to stop shit like this from happening. The pres was right that some meaningful action needs to come from this. I'm sure the gun bill that has been floating around congress will eventually pass but then another shooting will happen and it's back to the same old bullshit arguments. I wish you can remove the words thoughts and prayers from facebook feeds cus fuck people are annoying. the the whole put god back in school shit ive been seeing all day. you're religion is responsible for so many many many more deaths than this guy, fuck out of here. 20 something little 5 year olds though, that is sad.
I think all guns should be banned. This isn't 18th century USA. It isn't supposed to be wild, it's supposed to be civilised.
We had a shooting in a primary school about 20 years ago. That year, all handguns were banned, even though getting the licence was pretty difficult in the first place. Shotguns are still allowed, and we have had incidents with shootings since. But only a handful in 20 years. And all our shootings are reported as they are so rare. Compare that to a day in the USA...!

My babymother is seeing someone else. Every time I'm with my daughter, she tells me about the cake she made with Mommy and David. Or the pool she swam in with Mommy and David. It's difficult to explain the feeling this gives me. When I hear her sweet little voice talking about Mommy's friend David--oof. So painful. Look, I don't care what my ex does. Okay, I probably do care a little, but I'm more or less over her. I've been seeing someone else too. The thing about it is, I've been very careful not to bring my girlfriend around my daughter. I think of this a fundamental breach of the contract my ex and I share--or that I thought we shared. I've never even met the person she's bringing around my daughter. She won't even admit that such a person exists. I'm SO ANGRY about it. It sucks, man. It's affecting everything I do on a daily basis. I'm turning into an unpleasant human being.

If your daughter lives with her mom, then it's inevitable she's going to be around and part of a boyfriend thing. If you just get to spend time with her, then it's easier for it to be just time with her and no one else. It sucks, I know, but it's probably too much to expect from baby mom to keep that separate, esp if the relationship has become serious. So just try to get used to it and tell your daughter she's gonna have a new dad and that's why you drink. But really, if you tell baby mom that you are accepting of the situation even though it hurts, esp not knowing anything about him, then she might start being more open about it with you. But if she does start telling you things, don't be critical or she'll close up. And know that even if she marries this guy, kids are good at keeping people in separate compartments. He will not replace you in her affections.
And the dicks poking through them.
But Ristol, did you make it public on here what happened with your girl? I thought she was your fiance. Could have sworn that she was listed as either your wife or fiance on Facebook a year ago or so.
Well, what ever happened, hopefully you're happier now. Always tough on the kid, though. I think as long as you keep a separate identity from both the mom and her BF, you should be fine. It's also important to keep your identity "clean," meaning you don't badmouth anyone, especially not the mom (not saying you do), and just be a positive role model. When she's older, she'll understand what happened, or at least come to terms with it, and she'll finally complete the last half of the equation which is continuing to consider herself your daughter and you her father.
So today a co worker and I were talking about how we would go about killing this guy we work with who is fucking useless. Well, if we were his parent and he was like 3 or 4 and we were just beginning to realize this kid was going to be a dud. It started with like giving him silly string and telling him its like spidermans web and he could swing from buildings type of shit.. I got into a bit and didn't filter myself and said I'd send him to school in Connecticut. While my buddy laughed it didn't go over well with all the other co workers and yeah, that's most likely my worst "too soon" ever.
