^ That can't be true. The SGS3 build quality is very high. That phone can survive plenty of beating and look like new. The N4, however while a great phone and all is much more fragile and apart from its key components the rest isn't as perfect as in the SGS3. The design is a whole different story though. The SGS3 isn't beautiful while the N4 looks neat.

Now if it comes to the display the IPS on N4 is good quality but poorly calibrated - compared to the SGS3 it looks washed out, kind of like on the Nexus 7 (good panel, poor calibration - dull colors). Although LCD vs. AMOLED turned out to be largely dependent on personal preference, while the N4 panel is really neat (it's the same one HTC One X uses) yet on the One X it's much better calibrated and thus it is more pleasant to look at. N4 display looks good but you can see that it's not as good if you place it next to the SGS3 or HTC One X.

Performance is a no-brainer here. The N4 packs the fastest mobile chipset. The SGS3 uses a quad core A9, while Samsung made it awesome for what it is, it's an old tech in comparison. Plus, Android 4.2 is optmized for N4 and it doesn't have to run Touchwiz on top of it.

I am running a custom ROM on my S3 and haven't found any lag at all ever. And I have had the phone for more than a minute, unlike Nexus 4 users...!

The build of the Nexus 4 is the same as the iphone. Something android users (fanboys) have been talking as "fragile" for a long time. But now it's good because it runs android right? Android makes it tougher?

Don't get me wrong, I bought a Nexus 4, I always wanted a google experience phone, but they were usually poor in comparison to Samsung's latest model... This one isn't..! So I bought one.

Mobile devices are too powerful for anything we need them for, anyway. So if the Nexus 4 is more powerful than the S3, it doesn't really matter. When I check the CPU load I rarely use the CPU at more than 600MHZ... So do I need more than a gig of processing power?

How many people would have picked up an LG phone for the same price as the S3?

Finally.... I am not of the opinion that the phone I own is the best. Never have been. I was disappointed by the S3 when it was released, but there was fuck all else out there. What was I going to do, buy a HTC.... *Laughing as I'm typing...!

Looking forward to playing with the N4. But I won't be crowning it the Messiah. Also.... I hated the fact so many others had the S3, look forward to sitting on a train and seeing everyone else messing with their N4....!

Custom stock Android ROM right? Possibly with superior kernel too? See my friend has an S3, no root, no ROM, just out of the box. And it defo stutters and has some other bugs. I'm blaming TouchWiz. Of course you can get better performance when you start tweaking, but out of the box, a clean Android build is always gonna win. I'm pretty sure I've never complained about the build quality/design of an iPhone - only the small ass screen and shitty OS.

As for how many people would pick up an LG phone for the same price as an S3, that's an invalid argument because LG doesn't have the brand strength of Samsung, nowhere close. It's not indicative of the quality of their devices - if the Nexus program didn't exist, I would definitely be considering an LG Optimus G right now, which has the same processor and RAM as the N4 but costs the same as an S3. But frankly it all depends on when you need/want to get a new phone. If I had been in the market for a new phone 6 months ago I would have picked up the S3 also. Plus I like to give different OEM's a chance. To date I've owned Android devices from HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Asus and now LG. I don't think any one OEM should have a monopoly on Android. So while I obviously support people buying a Samsung device over Apple, I don't think people should have tunnel-vision for Samsung like they are the only decent Android OEM, because that's not true and it's good for Android as a whole. On that basis, I kind of enjoy the fact that Sammy's tablets haven't taken off while Asus have dominated in that space.

Nice to see that Sony is doing well - they've overtaken HTC now here in the UK. http://www.intomobile.com/2012/12/05/sony-overtakes-htc-and-now-second-android-maker-uk/

I get what you mean about hating that everyone has a phone! LOL. I've enjoyed these past few weeks, getting gasps when people see I have an N4 because so few people have managed to get them and everyone wants one. But also I like the fact that a stock Android device is the hottest shit right now.... that hasn't happened for years. Maybe not since the G1. The big sellers have always been the skinned devices. So I see it as Google pulling the reins a little bit. And hopefully this does for LG what the Nexus S did for Samsung and give them the push to make even better devices, with unique features and designs, and aggressive marketing.

It doesn't get too hot because it gets capped real quick (at below 40 degrees Celsius) by the battery sensor. It gets hotter while charging wirelessly.

I'd really like an app that would allow me to browse my phone's media from my tablet over wifi or even bluetooth if it had to be that way.

I have shitloads of pictures and videos that I take with my phone and while they are automatically uploaded to my Dropbox I usually store them there temporarily before I move them to their proper folders on my PC. I still have most of my "mobile" data like pics, videos and music on my phone, viewing them on my phone isn't as cool as doing so on my tablet. I think being able to connect a tablet with a phone and share that content without needing a physical copy on both devices (When I use my tablet I have my phone in my pocket anyways so I could just use my tablet to view my phone's content in real time) would be a super cool feature to see in a new Android but I can't even find an app that would work that way.

Actually this kind of looks like what I was looking for but I'd really like the tablet-phone sharing to be more integrated - so I could browse and delete and move stuff etc. Looks like XBMC is in early beta for Android and it's focused on PC/Media center -> client so far.

I'm really curious about HTC now. They're so quiet lately. They said the DNA is not going to be available worldwide which means it's not a part of their 2013 line up. Their 2012 line-up was the ONLY phone series in 2012 with really great design imho. As a matter of fact, if they came up with new "One" series for 2013 I'd be happy. Now it's a bit too late for guys like me to buy something like the HTC One S but if they came up with a decent successor.. it might be very interesting. Same with HTC One X, because One X+ is merely an update.
I'd be down with some HTC One S2, or One X2. They have to really refresh their Sense UI for them to sell though.

So I read that t-mobile is getting rid of subsidized phones. I wonder if they'll grandfather everyone is or what. This makes my waiting game so much more stressful. fuck

Loads of people who ordered after me have already got theirs...!
Yea, don't know why the late orders are being fulfilled first.

I was one of the very first people to get it on 4th December. I was promised a 2-day delivery after 3-5 business days of the order being made. No change on my wallet account, no funds take out, no email. Nothing.

I bought my girlfriend a new iPhone for Christmas. It was weird, I struggled coming to grips with buying it for her and not getting her something Android but it's a better choice for her as she's not into shit like that like me. iOS is simple so it works for her
