Hard to say yet. Even the Galaxy S3 will probably be a huge surprise, whatever it packs given super huge expectations. The Nexus S was slightly better than the Galaxy S but more expensive, but the Galaxy Nexus wasn't better than the Galaxy S2. Too hard to tell at the moment.
Frankly, these days we can expect literally anything from Samsung so it's impossible to tell untill the official announcement day.

I would definitely be picking up the S3 over the nexus. The Galaxy is always superior in specs to the nexus device.

But.... If the S3 isn't all it's cracked up to be. I will pick up a note, and wait for a year, see what companies release.

But.... The S2 was released just after the Nexus S. About 3 months after. So it was closer in time to the S2 rather than the S. Which it seriously blows out of the water.

TMobile just sent me the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio. Loving finally being able to use 4.0. The Beats by Dre headphones are pretty sweet, but it seems only mp3 playback gives the enhanced audio, Youtube and other sources sound the same. Just gotta disable sense and get the default ICS theme.

I just reinstalled Go Launcher EX.

I didnt actually want any Launchers, just wanted to run Android in pure form. Found guides on how to disable Sense UI by disabling it as the default launcher. This would have worked, however looks like HTC removed the default Home app on this model, so that didnt work.

Chou's wrong. The 4S didn't eat up HTC. Samsung did, by doing the same thing but WAY better.

Literally every person in my family that has smartphones started out with HTC's - G1, G2, Hero, Desire, Desire HD. Now everybody has Samsung's - Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Ace.

Obviously, it's easier for HTC to pretend like a company they don't directly compete with on a software level bested them.

But if Apple can't beat Samsung (which they can't) then HTC don't have a shot at all.

I always thought HTC had the more aesthetically-pleasing phones, but Sense was right there to ruin the user experience. Maybe that was on a shit-phone, like the Hero/Eris, but it was still a pain to have running the in background, even when not being used. Sucked you had to root to get rid of it.

They were also somewhat underpowered compared to Samsung. Samsung had some good looking phones too, and the Galaxy S line really seemed to take off on all carriers. That probably helped it too. Although, the Incredible really flew off the shelves too, for Verizon. As did the Thunderbolt. I wonder when HTC will release a tablet.

Indeed. Sense is pretty awful. Only recently with Sense 4 on the One X/One S has it improved slightly, but it's still nowhere near as good as a stock experience. HTC should have released at least two stock devices a year - like they originally did in the first year of Android with the G1 and the Magic/MyTouch.

HTC already released two tablets - the Flyer and the Jetstream. Neither were particularly good. The Flyer didn't even launch with Honeycomb, it came with Gingerbread so it was DOA. The Jetstream was OK but nothing spectacular:

Samsung apparently couldn't wait for it's big 'Next Galaxy' announcement to give us the detail on the chip that will power it. Dubbed the "Exynos 4 Quad," the chip will run at 1.4GHz per core and is based on the ARM Cortex A9. Samsung is touting the 32nm High-k Metal Gate technology, power management, and per-core dynamic voltage and frequency scaling. Most importantly for those waiting for the Galaxy SIII, Samsung has also let loose that it will be used on the next Galaxy smartphone:
Already in production, the Exynos 4 Quad is scheduled to be adopted first into Samsung’s next Galaxy smartphone that will officially be announced in May. Samsung’s Exynos 4 Quad is also sampling to other major handset makers.

Apparently it already beat the Tegra 3 in early benchmark scores.

I've removed all phone blogs from my news feed. I stick to just the basic tech sites now, so I don't hear about new mobile devices unless they're being hyped, instead of merely introduced.

I want to try the Galaxy Note. I feel like I can get away with using a lot of the "less practical" gadgets out there, because I spend most of my time wearing or around my backpack. Either at school or in my room or library. So whether the note can fit comfortably in my shorts without dragging them down to the floor, or not, I could still use it as a phone and not worry about its lack of portability.

I, however, don't really care too much for it as I'm fine with the dinky, shit Nokia dumbphone my school provided all of us students with, and then my laptop and tablet stowed away in my backpack. I also use my Droid on WiFi for calls and other shit. It's a lot to carry, but, again, having a backpack to chuck it in to and forget about makes it a lot easier.

Gonna have to enjoy school while it lasts.

He is exagerating his claims and making the worst case scenario to be the norm. I have never heard of a case this extreme, and I include my frequent visits to XDA.

If an android fanboy was so inclined he could mention Apple updates, and the many issues they have had. Including the issues that made a lot of their phone users very late for work....!

The PC World blog always seems to be poorly researched, not suprising considering the terrible shopping experience they provide, and their very little knowledge technical advisers. This is the 5th anti-android blog I have seen in the last few weeks from them. Always poorly researched, and based on rumour rather than fact.

I find it strange that people buy into their brands. If someone hates the phone I use, or the shoes I wear. I don't defend them. But I do dislike poor journalism.
