i see the appeal and the quality. i just don't like the brand of humor. a lot of it is witty and touches on some themes but it's done in a super retarded way. i don't think putting a message across in a super corny way makes for quality television.
in a sense, it's similar to arrested development. most of the jokes are jokes that seem to fly over everyone's head in the show, or more specifically, one person. they're all caricatures. but i don't know, i can't articulate why i like one and not the other.

i watched the paintball one after a long night of drinking and smoking and thought it was funny.
It was Dempster against Strasburg for OD for us. I think the pitching was spot-on, save for Marmol who gave up the game-winning run. He's been horrible since last season and I dunno what his deal is. I hope he improves soon. For his sake. The Cubs management has changed. Hendry is gone. Quade is gone. I think Theo will be quick to pull the trigger on bringing in a top-notch closer. I think in his first offseason, he was just a bit conservative just so he could gauge the team prior to making bigger moves.
I would give you Soriano before Byrd. That coon needs to play up to his huge contract the Cubs signed him for. He's just been pathetic. Forget signing a big-name player, I think the team needs to draft well and build the farm system up and bring up the good, young players. Or use them as trade bait. Fuck spending even more money.
It's gonna be weird seeing Big Z with the Marlins. He was my favorite Cub of all time, despite is outbursts and sometime selfishness. I feel the team is going to be a lot quieter without Z firing them up. The ovations when he was pulled after 7 strong innings in a game were always a treat to watch. I just wish it turned out differently.

Yeah, same here, just substitute Big Z with Jose Reyes. Also my favorite, also gone to the Marlins. And substitute the 7 strong innings thing with a ridiculous triple during which his helmet flew off bc he was too damn fast to keep it on. Sure did miss him yesterday, especially during the intro on the big board where Mets players give the ground rules for Citi Field. Since 2004 it was the same thing, the boring enumeration of the rules capped off by a younger Reyes, in halting, adorable English, saying: "And most of all....remember to hahh funnnnnn." First Mets game I didn't hear that in forever.

My night wasn't too bad. It was a girl's birthday dinner last night and so we went out. She brought all her pretty friends, one of whom was the girl I had a crush on. I've yet to say a word to her and we're almost done with our second semester here. She looked great. Didn't say a word to her.
The girl invited a guy that has been shunned by just about everyone in our class. He's a real douche-nozzle and loves talking shit about anyone and everyone. If you've seen Dinner for Schmucks, last night was a very similar set up. I haven't spoken to him in over five months now, yet the other two guys that came along are two of my best friends here. The schmuck thinks these are some of his best friends, but they really just try to be nice to him because he is just one big gossip/shit-talking machine and they enjoy hearing him spill the beans on every thing and then mocking him later. And then sending me the conversations on Skype.
Well, he was there last night and the three of us just listened to him make a fool of himself, dropping the most ironic/hypocritical lines ever about people in our class.
He informed all the girls with us, all six of them, that he was engaged and ready to be married next year, to which all the girls, naturally, said 'awwwww, congrats!" which made my blood boil because little did they know this poor unfortunate girl already looked like she suffered from Trisomy 21 (really, we call her that), but now she's looking to be with a cum-stain of dick-bishop for the rest of her life.
I gotta do something about this girl I'm after. I can talk to plenty of girls, just not this one. It's to the point now where if my friends and I cross paths with her somewhere, they stop to say "hi" and *gasp* small-talk, while I take a few extra steps ahead and then turn around and look at them like I'm some kinda mute. I wait for them to talk and then just move on. I feel if I randomly started addressing her, she'd think something was up. Or wonder why I decided to choose finals week to break the ice.
