It doesn't look as cool as the Arc though. It appears thicker and despite having a slightly bigger screen it also comes with more wasted space around it.

Anyway it still seems to be an amazing phone and the screen is better than on Arc - you can tell by the viewing angles. Not perfect but much better - and it was the biggest flaw of Arc's screen.

Yeah the more I see the phone the more I dislike its looks. That old render of white Nozomi looked really cool. These pictures don't. It's not ugly though. There are just some good design choices and some that are not in it.

Apparently it doesn't have a replacable battery or a memory card slot. Also it's supposed to come with a micro-sim slot.

Images of the Sony Xperia Nypon surfaces (first phone without the Sony Ericsson branding)

By Ian Hardy on December 13, 2011 at 6:07pm in Mobile News

Sony recently gobbled up the remaining 50% stake in the Sony Ericsson joint venture for $1,47 billion. This deal is expected to close January 2012 and will see the familiar “Sony Ericsson” branding vanish from their mobile devices by the “middle of next year”. New images have surfaced online of what this Sony only branding will look like, which is not much different than the last few years, but clearly puts the electronic company on track to “rapidly integrate smartphones into its broad array of network-connected consumer electronics devices”.
The device of choice is the Sony Xperia LT22, otherwise known as the “Nyphon” and “Nypon”. This looks like the Xperia arc and is another Android device, but unknown is what version it’ll run. Specs are rumored to come with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch qHD touchscreen display, 1GB RAM and an 8MP camera. This hopefully will be formally announced CES.

the traditional Sony branding/font/logo isn't cool to me. They should have kept the same font used for Sony Ericsson but have it just say Sony. I had that OG Sony logo on my fucking Walkman in 1992.

I think the Sony Ericsson logo font is basically Ericsson's font. I think I prefer it on phones too. Either that or they could use a bigger Sony (with Sony font) logo. I agree that Sony logo on those phones looks weird.

I guess if you have serious Sony brand loyalty you'd probably love it. An uncle of mine is like that, will only ever buy Sony TV's and other stuff, has an X10 and all his featurephones before that were SE also.

LG announced their new Prada 3.0 Android phone today.

Not sure I could rock a Prada branded phone myself lol, but again, it's all about brand loyalty so I'm sure they'll sell a few of these. The monochrome UI theme is quite cool.

The specs seem pretty in line with most high end stuff right now - dual core OMAP processor, 4.3" screen, etc.

I dislike these "designer" phones. I think they paradoxally feel cheap. It reminds me of cheap rednecks buying "Dolce&Gabanna" t-shirts. That's how I see it at least.

If it comes to brand loyalty and Sony I also noticed that it's very huge. A lot of people pick Sony products even if they're inferior. I know a lot of people loyal to Sony, they believe that their products are always the best.

Sonic CD just hit Android Market - link

*immediately buys*

I remember being upset when I was a kid that I couldn't play this game because it required the "Mega CD" disc drive add-on for the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) which I didn't have. Awesome to see it on Android.

The official Android ICS Alpha on Xperia Arc. It's covered with SE's UI which looks almost like the Gingerbread one. The cool thing is that the video is officially from Sony.
Also it already runs pretty smooth for an Alpha build. There's some input lag but animations run smooth.
