^Agreed. I don't know how people don't like the new batman series. Its dark, its gritty, and has a realness too it. The others were like.. kids movies. And this is coming from someone who hates superhero movies.
Co-sign. What's more, Nolan makes them more realistic with intent. That was what he set out to do with the first new Batman film. To reset the series and re-approach it in the way it could have possibly existed in the real world (Nolan's said something to this effect during the production of the first film).

In the comics, there are different origination stories for the various villains, but the Joker was a petty thief who feel into an acid tank and was "transformed", and Ra's al Ghul was several hundred years old. The Nolan takes were way more realistic indeed. I'm sure he will give Catwoman and Bane a similarly more realistic edge, so I'm really excited to see what it'll turn out like. The first two movies give me no reason to not look forward to the third.

^that's what I like from this reboot. I love how it's much more realistic than the past Batman movies. but some people like typical superhero movies.

It's worth noting that nobody ever said Hathaway is playing "Catwoman". She's playing Selina Kyle, who of course becomes Catwoman, but we don't know that that change will be covered in this film. The fact that it's supposed to be the last Batman movie that Nolan makes may increase the possibility of that happening, but it's certainly not a guarantee.

Word is that Talia Al-Ghul is the main villain, with Bane as her muscle/love interest. According to the latest rumors.

Dark Knight is a great film in it's own right. I also don't really like superhero movies. I like cold, gritty realism in my films. Films that leave me depressed.

I THINK Ryan Reynolds said that he was going to get going on that once he wrapped Green Lantern, so possibly soon they will be starting. Don't quote me, though.

I wasn't seriously claiming that it's the best movie, but it is my favorite. I grew up watching the 1960s TV show in syndication. The Nolan movies have been good, but I prefer the old campy incarnation from which Batman Forever takes its cue.

With that said, The Dark Knight is the last movie I saw in theaters, and I will go see the next one too. I don’t brave those hoards of high school kids for nothing.

I'm a sucker for the new Batman movies. I'm thinking the next one will feel "larger" in scale than even the second one. All the plot lines and how they were woven together straight blew my mind at the cinemas on the second movie. Points about the third movie that intrigue me:

- Anne Hathaway is cast as Selina Kyle, but from what I've gathered she isn't confirmed to be playing Catwoman AND Selina Kyle, just Selina Kyle.
- Carmine Falcone's son is cast. In Batman lore, he is also known as "the Holiday Killer".
- I read an article saying there will be flashbacks to 30 years before the first of the three new movies, starring Ra's al Ghul's daughter, Talia al Ghul.

I'm wondering how it will all tie in together. I wonder how Bane fits into all this as well. Considering the second one, I expect an epic drama.
