The problem is that the Kush track does not touch a single track on Chronic 2001. Even the chorus is the most unoriginal shit.

I agree that it's not original but 2001 was a classic album full of awesomeness. It was Dre at his peak after which his downfall started. I didn't expect Detox to be as good as any of his previous work. I expected him to try too hard to go with the times which is not good for artists like him. The Kush track is neither a disappointment or a success in my opinion. It's fine. But I do hope that there will be at least a single better track on Detox.

I don't like Eminem since after The Eminem Show. I skip his parts on good tracks. I need a Doctor is not a good track in my opinion.

I'd say there's no chance these songs are intended for detox. Especially "I need a Doctor". The song revolves around Eminem.

Game has more chance of being on the album than 50 does since he's westcoast and if they make songs like West Side Story then people will approve. If 50 plays a part then he has to be at his best on that song.

Nate Dogg has to make at least two or three appearances - but im not holding my breath since he's in a condition where he cant even articulate right now.

Nas i could deal with so long as he doesnt bore me or talks nonsense.

Westcoast? I cant really see Xzibit or Hittman on this one. The D.O.C. could be on it (vocally) if he recovered from his surgery on his voice box in time. It'd be nice if he could get one last NWA reunion on it, Ice Cube, MC Ren, even a WC feature would be nice. Kurupt and Daz would be sick.

The Kush is your typical weed smoking head-banger, take it for what it is and it's quite enjoyable. I dunno about Akon for the chorus... Maybe I'm so accustomed to hearing Nate Dogg ripping shit up with his funk and voice. Then again, nobody can really top Nate as a lead male chorus singer - Akon is your 2nd best sadly.

(Yes, I'm aware I said I wouldn't listen to any of the tracks because I wanted to be surprised, but temptations got the best of me. lol)

I googled it and cannot find any evidence of it. I also didn't get it in my inbox and I am on the PR company that handles both Interscope and DefJam promotions... mailing list. Until I see it I am dubious. Sounds to me that someone started a net rumour based on these leaks and the fact that Elly Jackson (who made a pass at my wife btw) has been working with Kanye...

Thanks for the comments! Right now that "press release" isnt confirmed, its been posted on some blogs but we've not seen anything official yet so its too early to tell - La Roux wasn't commiting to it when asked by MTV either so we'll remain skeptical. Of course we can expect Akon, Snoop, Em and Jay-Z being on there as leaks have confirmed it (even if Under Pressure doesnt make the cut) and the Game link is expected. Its almost as though LaRoux was listed to create a reason for people to question it.

Until the official press release drops I wouldnt worry there will most definitely be artists off your list that will make it a "westcoast" album! You know DUBCNN will be the place to check daily for news!

I was wondering is Slim Da Mobster would have anything to do with it since he was recently co-signed by Aftermath, Shady and G-Unit. He doesnt really appeal to me, then again, i havent really heard much of hiss stuff. i think Stat Quo might have been ghostwriting for Dre on this one as well. Whether or not those tracks make the final cut is another story.

Also, im still hoping for leaks that never made the final detox album (thinks of when dj quik said there were 400 songs to choose from to make the final version) - obviously there will be a lot more than that since that was like 2 years ago.

In a press release sent out this morning, it was revealed that Jay-Z, La Roux and The Game will all appear on Detox, along with Snoop Dogg & Akon, and of course Eminem that were featured on the leaks of “Kush” and “I Need A Doctor“, respectively.

Back in September, Dr. Dre said that he scrapped “Under Pressure” and any leaked material from the album, so this means they replaced it with something else from the pair. There’s also a tentative release date for February 2011, but I’ll believe it when I get my copy see a Twitter rant.
