I still listen to Hip Hop more than other genres. The Roots album is good but I can never fully get into one of their albums. I don't actually discuss Hip Hop much with many people, so I never really post about it here.

i still listen to hip hop, but rarely any new shit. i listen to eminem and tha dogg pound nearly on a daily basis but thats about it,

i wouldnt say i listen to one genre more than others its just a a big mix of certain artists i like covering different genres for example: eminem, blink 182, limp bizkit, disturbed, dpg, angels and airwaves etc

I'm not gonna lie, I don't really listen to hip hop anymore. Then again I don't listen to anything else either. I follow whatever plays on the radio. I just don't have the time or the willingness to browse the internet and search for new tracks or new artists.

I used to rely on SH, being the only board I actually visit, for that. But for these past 2-3 years, the Street Corner hasn't been as active as it used to be.
well maybe its about time that changes since you liked the pro green track with lily allen; maybe we could bring you some more.

^I'm a 20 year old college geek. Songs about bitches and being hard as fuck are no longer cool to me. And before people bring up underground rap, I find most of it boring. Sure dudes can spit some good lyrics but I don't give a fuck. I want a guitar riff that punches me in the face. I guess you could say I was never in to hip hop, I was in to Tupac, and from there I discovered some other rappers who I like but nothing that drew me in as Tupac and rock/metal do.

So just wondering to the people who don't listen to Hip Hop now, why?
the quality of it really. alot of what comes out now is rubbish so i lost interest eventually. However, i still listen to the hip hop albums i have regularly.

my taste in music is much more varied now than it was as well.

I ask because I was told by the time I reach 25 I will not be listening to Hip Hop any more, but im two years away from that and I still enjoy it as much as I had 10 years ago. I listen to new rappers such as Blu, J.Cole and Kid Cudi, Drake (if hes classed as hip hop that is) whilst listening to rappers of the past decade, from Eminem, Joe Budden, Royce, Joell Ortiz, Lil Wayne. And also rappers from the 90's era. (Nas, Jay-z, Bone Thugs etc)

I think there is enough quality out there, underground or mainstream. Also with the useage of the Internet I can easily find artist material which keeps me going.

I do listen to a variety of music, but Hip Hop still is the one I listen to the most.

Honestly, when I was 23, I used to be just as passionate as you are right now talking about hip hop and etc. I used to listen to hip hop on a daily basis and find new music, artists and etc. But by the time I turned 25, I stopped caring for it. I really stopped caring as much and have stopped listening to it as much too.

Maybe its because life takes over and I really don't have --time-- to give to hip hop like I did when I was younger, but it's so funny because when I was younger, someone said to me as well that by the time I'm in my mid twenties, hip hop won't mean shit.

And now I see, it really didn't.

That's cus your arteries are filled with slurpee.

I'm 25 and it's still my life theme music. I don't see myself ever not listening to it, it's all I've ever listened to, even as a little ass kid. There is nothing immature about rap music. Yes there are some immature songs/artists etc but it's like that with every genre of music. My interest in music spans damn near every genre and I'm on the net daily searching and scouring the webs for more stuff, I love it

the question is what kind of music will our children listen to; and will they hide it from us like we hid the slim shady lp from our parents?

i have cut down on my gangsta rap such as nwa, eazy e, comtpons most wanted, WSC and spice 1 etc... its good reality rap but it makes your head hurt after a while.

my taste has grown and ive noticed the music i listen to as i get older has become those that are more soulful, mellow... such as those which sample from other genres rather than hip-hop itself (as CMW did).

imma give those a listen soon. and i need more stuff from dj crazy toones!!

Wu-Tang vs. Boot Camp Clik | 2dopeboyz

If you follow me on Twitter, you might recall me asking about this yesterday. Anyways, Sean Price hit me saying that he’s been in talks with with Ghost, Meth and Rae about a possible Wu-Tang x BCC album. Details are definitely in the development stages, so who knows who would actually be involved. But what are y’all thoughts on this? Some folks were saying it’s 15 years too late; while others are saying it would be the best thing ever. Now it’s time for the dopeboyz/girlz to weigh in.

holy fucking shit!!!!111111111111111

If it was a new actual album and not just a shitty remix thing it could be literally the best thing ever!

There were literally single songs where some of their artists contributed together and all of them were awesome. A whole album together would be the best thing I could imagine. This getting accomplished properly would be my no.2 long time hip-hop wish coming true (no.1 would be 2pac's resurrection lol).
