I lived just outside of Rome, but basically Rome, in the mid 80s. Was back in Rome this time last year actually :( I miss it.

oh yea. i forgot about Adriana, Robinho, Diego and Alex.

oh ok.

although i dont think people say England as their second 'popular team to win' after brazil.
i think either Italy or Germany they would say. not England.
They seem to here, probably because Australia has such a strong connection to England.

I used to speak fluent but I forgot now, I was a kid back then kids learn easy, but I just had no practice using it when we moved here.

Although when I was there last year I picked up on it and could understand them all pretty welll.

You mentioned "my poland" before, you're Polish?

Do you follow the soccer? I ask cause most people who say Brazil just like that dont really and only say it cause Brazil is the in team to win like Chicago or Lakers used to be.

Anyway, Brazil hasnt been up to form.

Im partial to go for Italy too, used to live there, or Germany, have a cousin there.

Actually, Germany will be one to watch just like France was in their WC. They have a strong team, and home court advantage.
You shouldn't be so quick to write of Brazil, they barely made it through the qualification last World Cup and went and won everything...

Its not a suprise... they always play shitty at qualification matches, although i agree taht germany are a team to watch out for this time around, but Czech are a bigger threat... they are ranked 4th in Fifa World Rank in front of spain, england, germany, portugal and so on and are almost a shoe in to first qualify
http://www.fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/index/0,2548,All-Mar-2005,00.html

1 - Brazil 836
2 - France 782
3 - Argentina 777
4 - Czech Republic 774
5 - Spain 759

would u please do not mention this stupid World Rank list?! the ranking is ridiculous (for example, spain was shit, is shit and will be shit in the future..but they are still in the top5

ok, im hoping the final will be "germany - brazil", germany being the winner of course...and i think its realistic

England will not win shit.

Some of the most talented players in the world - not to mention an unbelievable array of talent from which to pick a squad - but the players don't have the mentality, team spirit or manager for the job. Long live Sven!

Brazil are still far ahead of most teams - even with dudes like Cafu being waaay worse than a few years back - particularly when you think of Lucio & Emerson - the defensive aspect which is rarely spoken about. Everyone knows how good they are going forward already...question though, will Rivaldo be picked or did he give it up? (international football that is)

France are without a hope. Their talisman - Zizu - has been piss poor, Henry is consitantly erratic & their unsung heroes like Thuram & Lizarazu are too long in the tooth now.

Czech Republic - I pray that they win it. A truly magnificent team. Working with some very talented players - see Nedved, Rosicky & Poborsky (who might not make 2006) - & a bunch of good players - see Baros, Koller - & then a squad of hard workers. Great organization & a winning mentality.

Germany - nope. Shit team. This was said in 2002 as well but I doubt they'll get the easy road to the final they did then. Home or not, their team has been on a steep decline since 96. No more Mollers, Sammers or Mullers.

Italy - a real chance of winning it. Terrific players & if Lippi can get them to gel a bit better then they will be extremely hard to beat. No Maldini, but the defence is still very, very strong. Gattuso will tempers players such as Del Piero & Totti & I think he could be decisive in Italy's performance. Even moreso than the ever reliable Rino, is Cassano. If he plays well, he can unlock any defence in the world & he tends to rise to the occasion - he is crazy though.

Spain - underacheivers who missed there chance in 98, 2000 & 2002 to pick up silverware. Remember back then Spanish sides dominated Europe? Well, now they don't & the players who really should've made Spain great - Mendieta, Raul & co - are either getting too old or are way past their best form.

Scotland......we'll be happy if we get there.

Btw, was Rukas freeposting? Probation me thinks....
