Non-Urban Music What are you listening to RIGHT NOW? (New Rules)

^I don't know man. Sad lyrics but I don't know, something about the voice. Doesn't seem to have much emotion to it.

I think saddest song ever goes to Fake Plastic Trees or Mad World.

Here's mine:

Yeah I know Nickelback are gay as aids these days. But before the made it big (silverside up and everything before) they were pretty fucking awesome. This is a pretty cool vid too, set to FF7

^I actually like that song a lot, i remember hearing it before but it's been a looong time. I agree with your comment about Nickelback, lol, they used to be good, they suck now.

Here's something kind of different, but i've been listening to them a lot lately.

Rodrigo y Gabriela - Tamacun (It's not in Spanish or anything, just check it out).

I need words most of the time. I'm too stupid to distinguish between brilliant guitar work and noodling. Lots of drama in that song, though. I did enjoy it.

^^^It took me a bit, but I ended up really getting into this. At first, I was kind thrown off and couldn't get into it. But the second go... I really liked it. Nice recommend. :)

You know (in regards to your comment) I've really been into music without words and lyrics lately.. no idea why.

Air - Playground Love (really mellow)

I'm a fan of Air, am very much enamored of what I've heard, which is only one album.

Glad you liked the song. To me Soul Coughing was the best American band of the 90s. (Yes I think they're better than Nirvana and Pavement.) Here's one more from them:

The lead singer, Mike Doughty, has been a solo artist for more than ten years now. One of my favorite guys and a criminally overlooked songwriter.

Yeah, I wouldn't call myself a Ja Rule fan, but that first album is nostalgic for me.

I really like the song you posted. I'm too lazy to Google, so tell me about the artist, please.

The video says its blitz is the artist which is incorrect. The song is actually called hysteric and its by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (its blitz! is the album). There is a "plugged in" version of this song but I don't think its nearly as good as the acoustic. I actually have trouble listening to the song as it reminds me so much of my girlfriend which makes me sad.

They're an indie rock band from New York, who've released 3 albums? Other songs by them you will probably like: Maps, Zero, Dowm Boy, Skeletons (acoustic).

Lol. I like this very much

I really love latin/spanish music, from Jose Feliciano, to DLG and Aventura. Thanks for bringing these two to my attention. Who needs words when you got your guitar strings :D

Oh I love Aventura. Do you like Xtreme?? They're sort of similar to them.
As for Rodrigo y Gabriela, check out Jesse Cook Rattle and Burn.. on a similar style.

On topic:

I couldn't really get into that song Ristol. It reminds me of Safety Dance for some reason. Though I do like Safety Dance.. but only b/c it's one of those "catchy stuck in your head all day" type of tunes.
