Personally i dont think anyone has the crown, I think hip hop as a whole needs a renaissance or something. The South is on top because they suck the least right now...

Real hip-hop fans could give a shit about a supposed "crown".

A crown for what, selling the most records? Record sales mean nothing when comparing talent.

Talent is different through each persons eyes. opinions are like assholes, everyones got em.

I cant believe people actually think the south holds the crown. Flash forward 5 years and reflect upon the music getting air play right now...would u be proud of being a "fad"? There are only a handful of rap songs that slip through the cracks and are actually good for commercial rap, the rest will be looked down upon in the very near future.

The south saying they hold the crown is similar to this....Lets say the south "created" the crown out of nowhere, then they said they hold it. It doesnt mean shit when someone from the south says the south is holding the crown. Ur from the south, what the hell do u expect? IT MAKES ME SICK!!!

The southern rap music coming out makes everyone believe they can rap with the best of em.

Who are those best you speak of?

By the way, a random trivia question: When do you think the last time commercial Hip Hop was considered to be good?

I'l give you a hint, it was before 93...

The one thing that bothers me about the south, it seems like everyone who wants to come out just talks about how they are "the king", "Im better than u, im this, your that, i sell coc, like u, i chirp the fuck out of my phone, i make a small as hook like "its going down, in da club, its going down, at the mall etc etc..." All the time they are claim that they are better than someone, but all they are doing is saying that they are better. They arent proving SHIT. If u want to prove something, just fucking prove it.

U should be so motivated on proving how u are the fucking king, instead of worrying about what everyone else is talking about. Get in your zone, show off ur skills, instead of just bosting and bragging non-stop that it becomes insanly insane and makes me want to run into on coming traffic.

I understand them meaning of competition and what not, and u have enemies and the hole nine, but when it comes to putting ur name on something, i know i could only but my name on something that i was proud of, and willing to share with the world. There arent a lot of commerical rap albums that come out where the same can be said, if any. That's my whole point.

The Crown:

Sales: South
Lyricists: East
Production: East
True to their form: West

Depends on your perception. If you feel like what is the most exposed is what qualifies as The Crown, then the South is raping everybody else. If you want to talk about skill and well-made music, then you've gotta look at the East. Again, all based on perception.

Mine is that the South is really mastering the art of making money. Jay-Z always spoke about "hustlin' for papers" as did the rest of the Mafioso rappers (i.e. Scarface, Biggie, etc.). So they're pretty much following up on what ALL our favorite MCs have ever said.

Wow as ii come up on here i realize that half you people dont know wtf your talking about. The reason the eastcoast aint poping becauase every one is sounding alike. If you judging the south based on d4l or the franchise boyz then you honestly dont know what the fuck your talking about..........Its amazing how people can just hate.Hiphop stared out as dance party music from the bronx so how the fuck can you get mad when another region does it or say its fucking up hiphop when another region does it?Get the fuck out of here.

This south movement is so strong You got eastcoast niggaz switching there whole entire style up.It aint even nobody fucking with lil wayne on some str8 lyrcism shit and weezy from the south ive heard shit on Nyc rappers all over the mixtapes

And somebody talked about how everybody from the south wants to be a king shit........Who the fuck you think started that jay z? biggie? nas oh but nobody was tripping when they were sayin shit....

And the reason y the hooks are so simple is because you have to dumb yourself down in order 4 the masses to understand wtf your talking about u have 2 dumb urdelf down its called commercialism everyrapper thats trying crossover do it.Something simple will stick 2 your brain faster and longer.

And lil wayne is shitting all over your favorite rapper right now.
