that's the exact same line minus the periods in the punchline, and the extra 'that' added in your set up.

periods are often added to create misdirection in text punchlines

it's all based on pronunciation, but to me this is a slant rhyme based off of my vocabulary. to others it may not rhyme at all, but the stresses are the same.

and there's no doubt that musically this would be off, as would the majority of text verses online.

Yeah, I know where you were going for it, but you just needed an extra syllable in the first line for it to actually work as a bar. It's a good line though.

But like I said if you want an independent judge to make sure people arent over cramming syllable into their bars let me know, otherwise just get them to record it over a beat to prove it

Actually to keep it fair, Im not sure if this is done or not in other battles, but how about you provide each round with a beat to write to, so that both contestants uses the same bpm and bars are the same length? Might be an idea? Not trying to step on your toes, I just want this competition to be fair and respectable.

i'm not participating cause i'm sorta with linx on it turning out a lil corny, only i don't have experience like he does. it'll be funny to read though.

only problem is that if we do that, you can scratch everyone off the list sans you maybe, and i base that assumption on the sole fact that it's your suggestion. so that's a little ambitious. for the fuck of it, you can sign me up too. i'll participate. but you won't hear me rapping cause i don't do it and i never will. i'm not a vocalist, and generally i tend to dislike rap with a foreign accent or think of it as corny. with a few exceptions though of course. if anything, i should rap in norwegian.

i think that's a fresh idea for sure, but just for the first tournament i think it may be a better idea just to keep it as simple as possible u know? but if this trend continues with tournaments, i think that's a really good idea.
