STREETHOP TEXT BATTLE TOURNAMENT- FIRST 16 to Sign Up!!!

I am starting signups for a 16 man tournament, at the request of SicC who has said he will open a forum for me to moderate if i can gather 16 people to show interest.


Basic Rundown:

16 entrants
Winner is decided by votes from members of this site, hopefully those who are participating in the tournament
It will be a 10 line tournament, so all each person has to do is write 10 lines/5 bars.

This is 1 bar/2 lines


There ain't no limit to the hoes i've played.
I'll tella bitch to get over here like Scorpion vs. Sonya Blade.


After each round i will close battles after a winner is determined. Each person will have about 5 days to post a verse, and the next 2 days will be allowed for voting. As soon as votes are all done, battles will be closed and a Magazine will be created including reviews and top punches of that week. The new battles will be up following that.

Once you lose, you're out, and the winner moves on to the next round. Basic stuff.


Anyone who wants to participate just sign in and say you are in or interested.

I'm not trying to be negative. It's only fun if it's competitive. I just don't see it being anywhere near close to competitive if it consists of people who post in Our Block. I'm not saying don't do it though. :thumb:

Is actually 2 bars, therefor if you refer to that as 1 line, and you want 10 lines per written, you're asking for 20 bars.

To be honest, for it to work musically, youd need to really restructure that to something like...

"There ain't no limit to the hoes that i've played.
I'll tella bitch get over here like Scorpion vs. Sonya Blade."

Otherwise your syllables are way too fucked up.

If you want this type of judging through the tournament holla at me and Ill help out to make sure people arent trying to fit 64 syllables into one bar

and you actually messed up the syllables in the rhyming multi and added an extra syllable to the set up.

that's the exact same line minus the periods in the punchline, and the extra 'that' added in your set up.

periods are often added to create misdirection in text punchlines

it's all based on pronunciation, but to me this is a slant rhyme based off of my vocabulary. to others it may not rhyme at all, but the stresses are the same.

and there's no doubt that musically this would be off, as would the majority of text verses online.
