some people need to be de-modded.

not a bitch thread. a valid - if it's closed then it just proves my point.

my point being? simple.

ive been browsing this forum since 2003. we can pretty much all agree that the forum was much more active than it is at the moment. however, despite such a reduction in activity it appears that more members have been placed in a modding position. why am i making a point about this?

recently it appears as if there exists some sort of "clash" between certain mods. meaning, one mod closes a thread, another one offers an opposing opinion and thus re-opens the thread. the problem here lies in the inconsistency that is apparent. it has become too cluttered and all over the place because of the excessive number of mods. furthermore, with responsibilities spread out more you are reducing the efficiency of the actual position. it seems as if some mods have adopted the attitude of "someone else will do it" - shown by the lack of response from the threads made in Letter To the Prez.

i believe we should cut back the number of mods - when board activity is at its lowest. threads being closed, then reopened, and then re-closed is just silly. it defeats the purpose of the mod position and it appears as if theres some sort of competition ensuing amongst mods.

please do not close this thread it is a serious topic.

adios

it would be funnier if you got banned at 4,999 since you are closer to that land mark than i am
No, it would be funnier if you got banned because once you get 10,000 you're an OG, and that's quite the milestone.

There arent that many people modding, at least, its always the same few that do anything. But in certain forums, streethop, life, our block there is steady amount of modding that needs to be done. The problem as I see it is not how many mods there are but how they interpret their responsibility.

I agree that the clashing of mods does create inconsistency and this is being dealt with. We've talked recently about further refining mod responsibilities so that how to deal with a situation isnt so discretionary.

As for LTTP - the questions are directed toward admins not mods. Some of the threads dont really require a response others are in respect of issues that Pittsey and I dont control, e.g. the thread about the streethop shop, or advertising or something like that. If its an issue within our power, we do respond.
