Fair point, but he meant a lot to so many people. It is not just the loss of his life, but the loss of an important part of the lives of many.

I'll miss the Pope because he was a great man, and such a shining beacon of freedom against oppression for everyone around the world, whether the Eastern Europeans and Poles in particular after he almost single handedly started the political downfall of the Communist Regimes. Or for Latin America because of all his visits to Mexico and Cuba when Religions were being persecuted at the time. Or all the good he did in reconciliation and unity between Christians, Jews and Muslims.

Karol Wojtyla was a great man, John Paul II was a great leader who taught by example, tolerance and respect. A lot of people in the world could take a leaf from his book on how to act, and certainly several people in here.

The Pope was loved by people from every faith in the world, he crossed boundaries and borders and united everyone he came in contact with.

The world will miss him, but he is in a better place now.

RIP John Paul II, a great man who is in Heaven where he belongs. Not many people agree with the ideals of the Pope, but he must be respected for everything he has done, from travelling all over the world to visit people, and to just be a caring man of the people, something that is rare in this day and age. The world will indeed miss his presence.

My dad told me today when he was young and was goin to uni it was dangerous to take his prayer book with him, because ppl could act and look at u in the strange way, u just couldn`t show ur relidion. yea I have met him, but it was in 97, unlucky I was too young to experiance it as i would of done it now, couldn`t understand many things that were goin on there, was only 12 at that time, still i can picture it and i got some memories
