Rukas said:I'll miss the Pope because he was a great man, and such a shining beacon of freedom against oppression for everyone around the world, whether the Eastern Europeans and Poles in particular after he almost single handedly started the political downfall of the Communist Regimes. Or for Latin America because of all his visits to Mexico and Cuba when Religions were being persecuted at the time. Or all the good he did in reconciliation and unity between Christians, Jews and Muslims.
Karol Wojtyla was a great man, John Paul II was a great leader who taught by example, tolerance and respect. A lot of people in the world could take a leaf from his book on how to act, and certainly several people in here.
The Pope was loved by people from every faith in the world, he crossed boundaries and borders and united everyone he came in contact with.
The world will miss him, but he is in a better place now.

My dad told me today when he was young and was goin to uni it was dangerous to take his prayer book with him, because ppl could act and look at u in the strange way, u just couldn`t show ur relidion.
