Ok everyone here's a complete list of nearly all of the songs mentioned in this thread...But first...
'Story telling' implies fiction, but it is hard to draw a definitive line between a conceptual story/fictional story and an autobiographical story simply because each individual has a different context....raised in a ghetto vs. raised in the suburbs/raised in America vs. raised in Thailand for example.
For some listeners one song may be heard as 'story telling' type track, and yet for other audiences it might sound just like a page from their daily lives.
I have not gone as far as to draw up a strict criteria of what constitutes a story telling song. However, I have subjectively removed a couple of suggestions here and there such as 'Still I Rise' and 'Me & My Girlfriend' just because I feel they lack the magical realism element seen in say 'Undying Love' or 'Dance With The Devil'.
Having said that, I am not familiar with all the songs on the list, so if you feel that one deserves to be there or that one does not, feel free to bring it up nicely - this is a list for everyone to discuss and expand upon, not my personal views carved into a stone tablet.
I'm only getting deep on your ass because like a few people have also stated in this thread, story telling is the best form of hip-hop.
