You could track the samples and sounds manually and then use about 50 other RTAS plug ins to do what Reason does.
Up to you. I dont understand why youre so dead set against using it.
what do you mean when you say "track the samples and sounds manually"?
well, i do have my mind set on using pro-tools software in a way thats useful to me. right now pro-tools really does seam useless to me. i guess i feel like that because i've pretty much mastered using FL besides for two techniqes (that im aware of) which im still getting a strong grasp of... one is getting a a better understanding on pitch change. another is being able to keep a steady tempo through part of a song, and then change it to a higher or lower tempo...and another thing might be training myself so that i can hear every instrument in a song..every note...and beable to duplicate it exactly the way it is..because thats what a proffesional music producer does and thats a skill to be learned (imo)..
to my understanding, when someone told me that its really not what you use, but how you use it, that really stuck with me...and ive learned that..and ive done my research, looked for loop holes in music software that ive been using and ive again proved to myself that its not what you use, its how you use it because if i could make music thats as good as a music producer with alot of experience who usespro-tools, then thats where i see pro-tools useless..i don't know....but i do want to learn it for the fact that anyone with pro tools certification is more likely to get better career opportunities and i think thats where its going to help me get where i want with the music industry.
i consider myself to want the same respect as David Copperfield the famous magician because like david copperfield i have tricks that i use when i produce music, and i dont think anyone out of their mind would go and ask david copperfield how he performed one of his big magic tricks so i'd like to think to give myself the same respect.
u know what..maybe i do have something against using reason..ive used it a bunch of times and its not the arranging or mixing or anything like that which bothers me...its mainly finding everything in that software which is annoying...
just from asking questions, and researching ive learned alot of things and one of the things ive learned is that i cant master on a proffesional level. puffnscruff said that before and he was right and i was wrong. ive noticed how on a mastered track ripped from a cd (in .wav or 320kbit) how the levels are pretty much perfect, how everything is maintained to a perfect or close to perfect volume. but just because i was wrong about saying i couldn't master doesn't mean that its not possible to master accurately in software like sony acid pro (thats if u know exactly what ur doing)..
i think my problem is i need to look at exactly where i want to go with pro-tools....i need to figure out a way thats best for me....even if i do run into some loop holes... one of my career goals is to work with a professional recording artist, who is maybe signed to a record label, this is how i can start my mark with the music industry.
