So Jelly Bean is 4.1 - that's what I figured. Seems the Galaxy Nexus will get it soon, too.

We have yet to get any confirmation from Mountain View, but it looks like Jelly Bean just got a touch more official. The as-yet-unannounced Android OS was outed as version 4.1 on the Galaxy Nexus Google Wallet checkout page. 4.1 does in fact make Jelly Bean a more incremental update than the potentially more significant Ice Cream Sandwich, from a classification perspective, at least. The operating system also, based on the checkout page above, will be coming to the Galaxy Nexus HSPA+version first -- which handsets will follow is yet to be seen. This could very well be a typo on the Walletcheckout page, but it's more likely to be an un-approved slip, giving us just a hint of sugar ahead of an official Google reveal. Though a (presumably) Jelly Bean homescreen in the checkout thumb does go a bit further to legitimize the above -- you'll find that screenshot after the break.
[Thanks, Fred]

Here are my screenshots. I prefer it simple. So it is. But I might add more rows. Double the amount of rows so 8 lines of apps, instead of 4.

To all you Americans... We measure the temperature in C not F.....

You probably can't tell from the screenshots. But... The screen is massive. I love it. I am tempted to see what the Note 2 comes up with as another 1/2 inch or inch of screen would be great.

Give me this phone's camera in Androids!

It's not only about the 41mpx talk. The quality is awesome. Nokia have a selling point at last. Too bad it's Symbian, and the rest of that device is pretty bad but.. I hope other manufacturers take note because it's seriously what I'm looking for.

Take a look at those pics, those are 8mpx crops:

And a full sized, almost 40mpx picture:

Awesomeness.

Yeah I'd use that cam to take 8mpx pictures, but look at the quality of that Nokia camera. It uses a 41mpx sensor to put together awesome 8mpx photos. I wouldn't need to carry a DSLR with me.

Google I/O Conference is this week and we’ll be there covering it live. There’s a few major expectations from the event, namely the official unveiling of Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean and Google’s Nexus 7 tablet. Both have been subject to several rumours. Today, special thanks to Gizmodo Australia, some additional information on Google’s upcoming tablet have leaked online, including a pic and potential pricing.

Apparently a training document reveals almost all the rumoured specs and pricing, noting that we can expect the tablet to be made by ASUS and called the Nexus 7. This will in fact come with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 and have a “178-degree viewing angle.” In addition, this will be the first device to run Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean, have a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor,1.2MP front-facing camera, nVidia GeForce 12-core GPU, 1GB of RAM, have 9-hours battery life, Wi-Fi-only and come in either a 8GB version or a 16GB. As for the pricing, the 8GB will be $199 (USD) and the 16GB will be priced at $249 (USD). Some other notable specs have it coming with NFC and Android Beam, plus it’ll come with Google Wallet – but that’s probably for the United States.
There’s no word on how thin the Nexus 7 is, but the associated pic gives an indication of what it looks like. Check out the massive “nexus” branding on the back. The launch is also rumoured to be available by the end of July.

Looks fairly okay. I don't like the back cover design with the Nexus logo though, but it's a detail. I wish they went for something like 8 inches. 8-9 inches is perfect for tablets imho.

I just noticed the Nexus logo. Not too keen on it either, maybe it'll grow on me. If I decide to buy this, most likely it'll be in a protective case. I was hoping for 8 inches. I thought the resolution or aspect ratio looked better on 7s and 10s though.

I also prefer 8" screen size. My current tablet, the Motorola Xoom 2 ME is 8.2" and I find that it suits me perfectly. I'd probably be just as happy with between 8-8.5" also.

But.... I like that this is a Nexus device (quick updates) and I like that it's Tegra 3. I don't know if that'll be enough for me to get one. I had a Nook Color before which was 7" and I found it wasn't an ideal screen size for me, for a lot of things.

CM9 RC1 came out today. I've been on the nightlies for a while already.

Also, what's that thing that has to happen for a new Android release to be official? Oh yeah, this also happened today :D
