Amazing new Volkswagen (yes, Volkswagen!) sports car

"some cars do have diesel. it isnt as popular though because america doesnt have as an intelligent set of consumers overall to work with. alot of people in the U.S. dont know how to drive manual, as to where alot of european countries have nothing but manual cars."

right, but they arent popular...i never said they werent there..i realize that there are cars like the TDI...

"what, you mean we have to write a couple paragraphs because you did."

um, no...but when someone starts shit with you, and then posts a one-liner about nothing, then yeah....

"and why do you keep bring the GTO up in your post. that car is too heavy and doesnt live up to the name."

cuz when i stated my "opinion" about it, i was bashed....so i keep referring to it constantly since it's the source of this new debate....

"" And there is a world outside America."

yeah, but they're not that important anyhow... ""

it was a joke, dipstick....like i'd say something like that when half the board is nowhere near the US.....

"oh yeah and btw there are ppl that drive trucks all the time not just to work and for fun, i know many of them!"

uh yeah, lets see where you live...um...appleton, wisconsin...im assuming hicksville??? i could be wrong, never heard of the place...people drive macks and freightliners? really?? for fun??? what do they do with them?? i know people drive pickups, i know people that drive diesel pickups, but trucks?? oh wow, my city must be living under a rock for not realizing the new fad of truck-driving....~_~

by the way, what are the benefits of diesel in car??? dont they make cars go slower?? does it increase horsepower or something??? all i know is that they have better fuel economy than reg. gas cars...

yeah i read about it in a car and driver...253 mph??? and it was still limited by a governor?? i heard you needed a second key for the overdrive thing....wow....that is a car....

They Veyron also costs about 2 million dollars. It's not a a car. It's an engineering statement, much like this little VW here.

And if you must know, it's electrically governed to about 235 mph. If you want to go faster, you have to bring the car to a full stop, turn a key, that sets the aerodynamics from a lot of downforce to next to no downforce (preferably only done one big long straight roads) and then you're off to hit 250 mph.

I never knew a diesel could cause such a debate.

And Diesels are very popular in the UK. As Petrol prices are about 5 times that of the US's. We all have to drive smaller cars and use alternative fuels. A 5 litre petrol engine would cost more to run in the UK than the average person earns.

so it's all about the fuel economy then, is it??? while we do have to worry about that here in america, we dont really bother with diesel....ever hear of hybrids?? yeah, honda and toyota, and one ford have...

Hybrids aren't very popular here. And plus we pay at least double the price on cars that the US does.

We have some cars at work that run on LPG, pieces of shit, never works. So we just stick petrol in.

ah, ok...

anyone see that ad about trucks using cooking oil for fuel??? they go to the back of a chinese restaurant whichh i guess has a barrel of cooking oil...they fill up their truck with it, and drive off..they say its a source of fuel...

Aye, it seems to work. Kinda anyway.

There are many things that an internal combustion engine could run on. Cooking oil, biogas, alcohol (:D). Are they really effective is the question, though?
