Thank you!

Pac achieved his first goal of coming back into rap after all that drama that almost killed him. So sayin he werent loved when he was alive is straight ignorant bull crap tit wank bollocks! Trust me, half the reason he got killed was out of jealousy, they hated he had all this power. The whole of westcoast was ready to put it down with 2pac -

Reason I say this is because alot of people have said that death made 2pac! - Fuck that, Pac came back up in '96 with his nuts (or nut rather) in his hand and said fuck em all, im back, im bad and im gonna knock y'all the fuck out! - And for that brief moment of time, he did! He was on the verge of owning Rap Music in my eyes dude, his influence to the game would of been, and still is, immense. The only thing death did to 2pac was show why he was such a special force of human nature. He was a phenomenon. Noone has ever stepped on a stage/mic/album/industry the way he has. So no, he aint over-rated.

I got a problem and that is I respect business people and any person who achieves success out of failure, and Pacs one of them dude's. In fact, Pac is the ultimate guy to have done this. One minute he's sittin in jail writing letters home saying he wants to open a restaurant and settle down in a family business cuz this rap game has done nothing but destroy him, and the next he becomes the biggest thing in the west coast and Rap music taking on anybody who stood in his way. Badboy got hit hard!! Suge gave him the golden ticket, he took it and run with it!

Suge knew Pac had a beef with Badboy, and Suge obviously did too - so Suge let him off the leash so to speak and said go get em playa - do what u gotta do. Pac was hungry for it and it showed.

I gotta agree with the majority that your in a 2pac fan forum discussing him and u drop an ignorant comment like "he's over-rated" and then get shocked when people shit on you. I personally respect your opinion cuz i put up with this shit from my homies all day long - but dont get touchy when people spit back at ya -.

Anyway it dont matter what anyone says, Pac was blessed by something and his life was a special one. People get shot and live all the time, but to come back the way he did against every odd and the fear that he could end up in a grave again - well it just shows how big his balls (ball) were.

He sacrificed his own life to rap, so respect it dude - it gave millions of people around the world timeless classics of a timeless rapper.

Peace ..!

I think a lot of people see Tupac as overrated for mainly two reasons;

1. They've never really listened to his music..

I agree Pac isn't over rated he could write a song in 15 minutes. He could reach you when his lyrics flow in the air. I am sick of people who say Biggie would beat Pac in a freestyle, I'm not saying Pac would win either, but how do you know Pac would have lost. Tupac wasen't overrated the people in the Bay Radio Station didn't have anything to talk about so they just ran there mouth. Like Pac said "Only GOD can judge me."

yea, i think having two #1 albums (while alive) proves a little something about yourself

The thing is, tupac is known. The problem is, there is too much fame. I love pac but too many kids are 2pac fans and they never really got into it.....U know? I wish pac would still be underground u know....

The funny thing is you can't always listen 2 2pac when ur with girls n shyt. You are kinda right because it is a little old compaired to the "beats" coming out 2day(main reason). The lyrics r better then anything being put out beleive that.

50 cent will take you to the candy shop.... 2pac will show u unconditional love. The onlything that makes some of tupacs music kinda not always fit the mood when your with certain ppl is because he is not popish most of the time .

But i know younger girls who just bought 2pacs new album , not cuz eminem made it just cuz its 2pac so he stil had fans but he cant put out singles n videos like he did thats why you dont hear him 24/7 on the radio anymore.

hmmmz
i'd rather hear a dude play 2pac than 50 cent, 50s style is stupid and rap DID die when 2pac died. biggie aint shit either

I think the problem here is everybody wants 2pac to themselves, they want his music to be exclusive to them and them only. If kids start listening to him its "hey these kids dont know shit about pac" -

Its these kids who are gonna carry his legacy further and further. And after them the next generation of kids. So lets not shit on these people. I think its great!. How many kids do u get listening to Eazy-E or Big Pun? Not many, them artists are not gonna shine as long as Pac will. They are only going to shine for as long as there torches are carried. And Pacs torch wont ever burn out playaz -

Pac is overrated from my point of view and I AM a big fan of his.

Just look at what people say in this forum.

Pac was great, I think he was the greatest 'MAN' (notice I didnt use rapper) in hip hop, but people like to put him way higher than what he really was.

^ I often noticed your opinion in other threads, but you didint seperate ppl saying he is the greatest man or he is the greatest rapper. What is wrong about seeing him as the G.O.A.T.?

nothing is wrong with seeing him as the GOAT if that is what he is to you (I will get back to that in a minute). his words touches many people on many levels but there are people in the game who can do better with the wordplay and there are people who can write a more complex lyrics.

there is something wrong with riding Pac's dick and claiming that 'he could out spit any MC' or other things like claiming that he never made any mistakes, pretending that he was some sort of a perfect human or a saint.

I think people are often confused about why Pac is the GOAT.

I don't dispute your right to call Tupac overrated. What I do dispute is you consistently going around hating on Pac, his music and his fans. By coming out with stupid comments like "anyone who still listens to Pac is lame" you are simply antagonizing many on this board and causing yourself unneccessary problems but at the end of the day maybe that's what you really want. This is, whether you like it or not, a site dedicated to 2Pac and if you don't want to deal with people who are big fans of his please head off to the Ill Community, you'd fit much better in there anyway.

Yo man i have the right to say whatever i like..and if i think you are lame cuz you still got all eyez on me in ur cd player than i have the right to say that..wether you like it or not cuz that is my opinion...
And only cuz u dont share the same opinion doesnt make it a problem...but instead YOU are making it a problem..while we could just disagree and everything would be cool...but no ur tryna son me..and that makes you look like a dumbass...stick to postin up ur own opinion instead of dissin me for havin a different opinion..
Plus...its a discussion board...man..if everyone agrees wtf would this be 4 board then?...

Co-sign this. In terms of the original qualities needed to be a rapper - wordplay, flow, freestyle etc. - there are people who, IMO, rank higher than 2Pac but he had extra qualities, ones which once went unaccounted for - emotion, heart/'realness' (& I mean this in the most intelligent way in that, he stood by his beliefs), charisma, originality.

IMO, 2Pac could freestyle fairly well & he had some nice wordplay, but his strength lay in writing songs. It's like this, I wouldn't say that 2Pac is the greatest rapper ever, but I will say he's the greatest songwriter in Hip Hop history, & one of the greatest in music - ever.

That's tight dude - U got sense -!

2pac did bring a new persona to rap - a persona which many other rappers have integrated with their own. His use of certain words and ways he expressed himself. Almost every rapper thinks theres a little bit of Pac in them, regardless of if they dont wanna admit to it or not (**Cough cough** DMX **Cough cough*) - But DMX is pissed off simply because Pac took that "Thuggest, Rawest nigga" title to the grave with him and cant no-one get it back! - DMX wants it, instead of being mocked.

Almost anyone who tries to shit on their enemies by straight up dissin them in a record is accused of being the next 2pac! (most commonly 50 Cent) - And aint that great? No-one will ever be able to express that anger without them mentioning 2pac. Thats tight! - Cuz without Pac they wouldnt even know HOW to attack muthafuckas on a record - they now understand the consequence of saying waaay too much (Like Pac did) - and that's an early death. They learnt this through Pac. If it had been anyone else who died then it wouldnt of been soo significant - but the fact that 2Pac looked untouchable and got shot like that makes other rappers aware that they aint shit! - Get what im saying? -

And what happens when record labels have a beef? - or rappers have a beef? They bring out the Pac samples. Em/50/busta spittin on Ja over Hail Mary is the most obvious. Pac's music is a safe haven for beef. Its like he's a place for refuge while drama goes down. His material has been used to do this i think on a few occasions, and to be honest its fucked up. He died for his OWN principles and belief -

If anyone can name me ONE artist (not necessarily rapper) who had the essence and qualities of 2pac then I will wank on my hand and slap my own face - The man basically prophesised his own death. SUb-conciously he knew he was gonna die. Maybe it was cuz he was dissin everyone, or maybe its cuz after the '94 shooting he's on borrowed time already - but he saw it coming. Someone please name me ONE artist who has ever been that real? Cuz I need to know, Here's me thinking Pac is the rawest human you will ever have the chance of witnessing, and theres someone out there better than him -

So hell naw playa (to the dude who started the topic)- Pac wont ever be over-rated, I dont waste my time on bullshit - so thats how I know!

Peace ..!

actually it is lame if u still listen to pac..it is lame if u still listen to him more than once in every lets say** 4 months? Ya know everybody has moments when ya think back of the old times..BUt uhh many people forget hip hop moved on and hip hop obviously didnt die when pac died...and yeah he is hella overrated...doesnt mean i dont like his music tho...but ppl act like he was a god..

I should add this reply because everyone whose replied to you has made the wrong points. You can say you dont like pac, etc. its just that when you go around calling people lame because theyre into a certain thing that you're not feeling, it ain't very smart. You need to get to grips with something called opinion and taste. I can't see how you can find the time to come to a message board for someone who now has "lame" songs?
No one here is saying they listen to pac and only pac, and hip hop died with pac (anyone who does is a fool), people prefer to listen to pac. Just like some prefer football over rugby or tea over coffee. What you're saying is that basically, if someone theres like me who listens to pac songs daily, they must be "lame", be attached to pac, and have no regard for hip hop since his death. A very well done, fantastic point. :thumb:

yeah real nice and all that..but too bad u couldnt finish it perfect my friend...I dont come here to talk about pac..actually my 1st post in this thread was one the few posts i have ever made in this forum...Most of the time i post in streethop...is that enough for you to understand why i come to this board?...Look ur obviously influenced by all ur lil friends on this board...and if you look back...they all replied to me and disagreed to me and ive said several times we DONT HAVE TO AGREE so let it go...so the reason why i replied to ur post is that i dont wanna be seen as some stupid fuck who only hates on pac..AND DAMN SOME OF YOU ARE TRYNA MAKE ME LOOK LIKE THAT..
So now lets let it go..i have a different opinion...and u dont share the same..its cool leave it with that...
