2pac is overrated in common eyes..

LOL. This is kinda funny.

I actually first heard Pac on Wild 94.9 (it was Wild 107 back in the day)..."Dear Mama" was the track. I gotta tell ya, none of you know how many times they played that damn song. Honestly, they played it at least once an hour - and this was back before modern payola and, more importantly, before Pac was dead. Shit, the dude was in prison and virtually unable to promote his album.

They did a similar thing with "California Love" in early 1996, but not to the extent of "Dear Mama". Then their station became progressively shittier. Oh the memories...and the irony of it all :thumb:

Everyone who comes here is a Pac fan. It's just it's true, 2pac wasn't the best Lyricist, didn't have the best flow, was quite far down the lines in freestyle skills. but what makes Pac the g.o.a.t was his heart, his content, his emotion and the man behind the music. It just seems a lot of people are saying things like "2pac would kill Eminem and Canibus together in a rap battle"; that isn't being a fan that's riding 2pac's dick.
Also a lot of people here have been listening to Pac since 1992, that's a long time and there's only so many times you can listen to an album without it getting boring, I don't listen to 2pac as much as I did say in 1996, but he's still my favourite rapper.
And not to create any hate, but a lot of the people on here are new fans who never listened in 1992-1997, so all the stuff you listen to is new to you. Infact I'd say 90% of the posters in life are new fans.

true true...my area in uk is so ignorant when it comes to 2pac...they refuse to give him a chance...they take 'changes' and judge him soley on that 1 song... :(
I feel ya man. Im from Leicester, and when Im listening to 2 Pac on the personnal CD player all I get asked is: "is that got Changes on?" It pisses me off. Plus Im surrounded by 50 Cent and Eminem fans who are adamant that tey are better than 2 Pac without owning a single Pac album (except maybe LTTG).

Thank you!

Pac achieved his first goal of coming back into rap after all that drama that almost killed him. So sayin he werent loved when he was alive is straight ignorant bull crap tit wank bollocks! Trust me, half the reason he got killed was out of jealousy, they hated he had all this power. The whole of westcoast was ready to put it down with 2pac -

Reason I say this is because alot of people have said that death made 2pac! - Fuck that, Pac came back up in '96 with his nuts (or nut rather) in his hand and said fuck em all, im back, im bad and im gonna knock y'all the fuck out! - And for that brief moment of time, he did! He was on the verge of owning Rap Music in my eyes dude, his influence to the game would of been, and still is, immense. The only thing death did to 2pac was show why he was such a special force of human nature. He was a phenomenon. Noone has ever stepped on a stage/mic/album/industry the way he has. So no, he aint over-rated.

I got a problem and that is I respect business people and any person who achieves success out of failure, and Pacs one of them dude's. In fact, Pac is the ultimate guy to have done this. One minute he's sittin in jail writing letters home saying he wants to open a restaurant and settle down in a family business cuz this rap game has done nothing but destroy him, and the next he becomes the biggest thing in the west coast and Rap music taking on anybody who stood in his way. Badboy got hit hard!! Suge gave him the golden ticket, he took it and run with it!

Suge knew Pac had a beef with Badboy, and Suge obviously did too - so Suge let him off the leash so to speak and said go get em playa - do what u gotta do. Pac was hungry for it and it showed.

I gotta agree with the majority that your in a 2pac fan forum discussing him and u drop an ignorant comment like "he's over-rated" and then get shocked when people shit on you. I personally respect your opinion cuz i put up with this shit from my homies all day long - but dont get touchy when people spit back at ya -.

Anyway it dont matter what anyone says, Pac was blessed by something and his life was a special one. People get shot and live all the time, but to come back the way he did against every odd and the fear that he could end up in a grave again - well it just shows how big his balls (ball) were.

He sacrificed his own life to rap, so respect it dude - it gave millions of people around the world timeless classics of a timeless rapper.

Peace ..!
I repect and agree with everything you said there. But what is all this "nuts (nut)" and "balls(ball)" stuff. Pac said he never got shot in the nuts. And his biological dad Billy Garland said it in Biggie & Tupac. I dont know why everyone still seems to think that.

yeah real nice and all that..but too bad u couldnt finish it perfect my friend...I dont come here to talk about pac..actually my 1st post in this thread was one the few posts i have ever made in this forum...Most of the time i post in streethop...is that enough for you to understand why i come to this board?...Look ur obviously influenced by all ur lil friends on this board...and if you look back...they all replied to me and disagreed to me and ive said several times we DONT HAVE TO AGREE so let it go...so the reason why i replied to ur post is that i dont wanna be seen as some stupid fuck who only hates on pac..AND DAMN SOME OF YOU ARE TRYNA MAKE ME LOOK LIKE THAT..
So now lets let it go..i have a different opinion...and u dont share the same..its cool leave it with that...

Im completely baffled. You've just taken what I've said to you and said it back to me? lol. Did you not read the few sentences i just wrote about preference? I'M the one that just told you, people can listen to pac on a regular basis AND have a grasp on hip hop today. I also didn't generalise at all where as you dismissed anyone who listens to pac more than on a magical time basis which you defined (4 months or whatever) as being "lame". All Im trying to say is, don't make senseless, rash comments like this. :thumb:

And that's the truth. That's what makes Pac the GOAT.
He's good lyrically, just not the best.
A lot of people say he has no flow or bad lyrics, that's wrong. He's very good in every department, but there are better.
Dick riders won't agree, they say he's the best at everything.

Not wanting to sound a dickrider but having read interviews bout pacs work he would - ship em in , ship em out - in regards to songs , thats why he recorded all those songs in such a short time . Do you think his flow was affected by his work ethic ?? I personaly do . His flow was obviously flawed cause he generaly ripped the song first take and added in where he missed out on the second take , then he went on to the next track . Im no expert but most rappers probably take a lot longer recording and re-recording the track till its right thats why there flow may often sound better than pacs . just a thought .

^ Correct. Pac just drop his verse like THAT and that was that. Others spend time on it to perfect it. Read the interview with QD3. He said that Pac's opinion on making songs was to not try to perfect just one song. Why? When you could make several hundreds in that time that you're working on just one song.

Pac was great, I think he was the greatest 'MAN' (notice I didnt use rapper) in hip hop, but people like to put him way higher than what he really was.

I'm not comparing artists here, just trying to place Pac on the level that he should be at.

a human being, a good rapper and a great man.

instead of

a super human, the most skillfull rapper and a prophet.

IE

If Pac wanted to leave secret messages , he could easily write a verse when you hear it backwards u can find the hidden message, he was smart and could do that quicly , THATS whay I dont think reversed hidden messages is not an Insane Idea
