I don't believe for one second that he signed through fear. I think it's ludicrous to believe otherwise. Any idiot can write a threat on a bilboard. And if he felt fear because of the Manc twats outside his house. He'd have called the old bill.

I also thought he would sign and it was just part of contract negotiations, until he released that statement. That doesn't fit with how even hard ball negotiations work.

I think he spoke with Sir Alex. Got some assurances. He also got the contract offer he was after. Either way. I'd imagine it was a happy end for both parties.

you know, Rooney signing a new contract doesnt necessarily mean he'll be there for long. might just be an agreement, so Man Utd can get more money out a possible transfer. especially if relationships between Rooney and Ferguson and Rooney and the other players are beyond repair now.

Rooney probably got a clause in his contract which said if there are no future improvements he can leave for 'x' amount.

i kind of expected this to happen, but not so soon. i didnt really think he would leave just yet either although i had a few doubts because of city trying to prise everyone away. I wish Milner had made a u-turn and signed at least a 2 or three year deal.

Speaking of contracts, Ashley Young now says that he is not going to sign a new contract until the summer and wants to concentrate on his football at present.

was watching Spurs v Everton earlier. what an awful match. How Redknapp insists on playing Crouch up front with 2 better players left on the bench is beyond me. VDV was the best player on the pitch.

why is it beyond you? VDV mostly scores when Crouch heads the ball down to him. That partnership gets the best out of VDV. because i think he is shite. is that a fair enough reason? i used to like him. but only because he was a liverpool player. now i realise his mediocrity more.

doesnt win near enough headers given his height. doesnt score near enough goals either. none this season as far as i know and has never scored many goals over his course of his career. your probably right about Keane though. but he has been a far better player than Crouch over his career.

oh ok. im talking from a strictly football point of view. yea he can be awkward but when you hear people rambling on about him you'd swear he was one of the best strikers around. he is far from it and his record shows that.
