11/12 Premier League thread

^^well the majority dont want him to go.

i think he has made mistakes and i am critical of certain things he has done but what are the alternatives?

We should get Maradona as manager lol. He would probably kick the shit out of the owners.

Or run over them, and call them assholes as he drives off. lol.

so Rafa is gone. it has been confirmed.

thanks for the great memories and great European nights. they seem lightyears away atm. we are fucked.

Wow.

Maybe it's a bit soon to ask, but any favorites to take the job? Like who would the supporters like to see...? I'm sure there are many managers that would love to take a job there...

It's fucked up cause a lot of the Spanish players signed with 'Pool cause of Rafa ... so who knows what's next, will they jump ship or not.

to come work under these bastards? there arent many managers of Rafa's calibre that will im afraid.

the favourite is Martin O Neill. no thanks. McLeish and Hodgson are also in the running apparantly

so is Kenny they say. thats my choice but he has been out of the game for years.

They're saying that Dalgleish and Rush will take over on a temporary basis just now and will also help find the new manager.

I think they should do everything in their power to try and ger Hiddink, a great manager.

Also reckon Klinsmann will be in the running.

^^Hiddink was just appointed as Turkey manager not too long ago.

as for Klinsmann. no thanks.

If Kenny and Rush want it on a permanent basis then give it to them.

Hiddink has agreed to become Turkey manager but has not yet officially taken over. If Liverpool offered him a contract and decent transfer budget he'd be tempted.

I don't rate Klinsmann anyways as a manager... Yeah, he did well with Germany in 2006, but I think even without him they would have done well. Kinda like Spain in 2008 - even without Aragones, they would have done as well, I'd say. Klinsmann is no different from our Slaven Bilic I'd say.

I don't think Hodgson would leave Fulham, but great manager nonetheless. Incredible the turn around he did for them, it was only like 2 seasons ago they were fighting relegation, and now they almost won the Europa Cup

I think Klinsmann could become a good manager. He did well in 2006 after being burned down before he even coached a match. Then he went to Bayern, but that's a very difficult job, especially for a starting coach.

I understand your a King kenny fan, but would you really want him to be running the show at Anfield on a permanent basis? I understand they aint got much cash to spend, so Kenny could come in an steady the ship, but i think you really need a top top manager to be running the show who's in for the long haul. Imo kenny certainly aint yer man.

You say no to martin O neill, do you think Kenny is a better manager than O Neill?

Oh, I agree with you Dukey. The potential is there - same as Bilic. Potential is there, but the experience isn't. After he goes through a few clubs, I pretty sure he can be one of the world's best. You don't become a great manager over night that's for sure, it takes time. Shit, King Guus Hiddink has been at it for more than 25 years - now he's more epic than Epic Beard Guy. :D

but he was a top manager but no one knows if he still has it as he has been out of the game for a long time.

but look at what he did with Liverpool in the late 80's and early 90's and at Blackburn.

Liverpool under Dalglish played the best football in the world along with that AC Milan side. Only for the Heysel ban Liverpool would have added a couple more European Cups. i have no doubt about that.

I pretty much agree, but that was a very long time ago. He spent a fortune at Blackburn won them the title then quit. He came up to Scotland and the pressure of the Celtic job, whatever it was director of football/ part time manager whatever, anytime he was in front of the tv cameras getting interviewd he seemed like a broken man. Although obviously he'd be well wanted by the Liverpool fans. Big mistake imo though. We shall see.
