well that is debatable. you could say that winning silverware is more memorable 10+years down the line than getting 4th place and knocked out the CL season after (a few months).

decent display. could have been more than two with all the chances Liverpool had towards the end. Kuyt got both goals. Aquilani played well. Krygiakos had another good game at the back as well.

milner just shone today and usually i wouldnt advise what young did, but fair play to him he finished off well. warnock was lucky to get his goal and the other three by blackburn were lucky goals. but the best goal was the overhead kick.

a cup is a cup. its still a piece of history. its still something you have to compete for and if become champions of the competition, defend your title from other clubs replacing you as champions.
say if all goes wrong this season for us (in the premier league), if we win the carling cup it still gets us through to the europa league.
but my ambitions for villa are to win the carling cup, get 4th place and maybe a good run in the fa cup?

I had to LOL at the Villa fans having a pitch invasion for reaching the Carling Cup final, hilarious 
i wouldnt say they paniced. Liverpool just stopped them from playing their usual game and they had nothing after that. All they did was lump the ball up to Crouch and go in with filthy late tackles.
Besides, Spurs havent beaten Liverpool, Man Urd, Chelsea or Arsenal away from home in something like 60 matches. Dont see why it would be any different this season.

They were saying today that Spurs should have had a penalty when Crouch dived. Liverpool had been given a free out just before hand for a foul so it didnt matter if Crouch was fouled. The ref had blown for a free already. Crouch clearly dived but as he is English they say its a penalty.If the referee had given a free kick to Liverpool then it doesnt matter what happened afterwards. Lucas was taken down in the box against stoke last week but no penalty was given and that cunt of an interviewer suggested to Benitez in the post match interview that Lucas went down easily.
They were also giving out about Defoe's disallowed goal. It was a clear offside in the build up. fucking pricks
and you know what that boring rubbish dope of a commentator Martin Tyler says during the game? that Spurs miss Huddlestone more than Liverpool miss Gerrard and Torres. what the fuck?
Sky's coverage really is sickening. Tyler is one of the worst commentators around. Himself and his monkey beside him spend the whole game having a chat. He wont even broadcast the match properly and shows very little excitement when a goal goes in. Gray condradicts himself almost every minute. stupid retard of a man. thick as shit.
Another thing, there were loads of Rafa Benitez banners in the crowd last night. just fans showing their support. Sky didnt show any of them during the game. i bet if there was a banner there with Rafa Out or Sack Rafa on it, they have showed it.
