11/12 Premier League thread

^^lol no although i was biting my nails at the end.

i dont get why ye are complaining about the ref though. Carragher/Owen incident was borderline but Owen had a lot of work to do even if he got away from Carragher. Johnson was close by as well. Maybe he could have gone but it doesnt take away from the fact that liverpool were by far the better side. Complaining about the tackle on Carrick is just ridiculous though.im not going to even argue about that.We completely out fought Man Utd from start to finish and fully deserved to win again.

oh and where did the ref get the 5 mins injury time? :D

I cant wait until Aquilani is fully fit. hopefully we can push on from here now.

In the end, all referee decisions are fairly spread.

Also, this has been the Liverpool way for the past years. Perform very well against the top sides, then draw 6 minor sides at home.

villa win on penalties 3-1. guzan the hero.

i hate going through to extra-time and penalties especially in mid-week when all the players become worn out for the weekend.

MON used the proper first team squad. NRC, heskey and guzan replacing sidwell, carew and friedal.

went to see the villa open training session yesterday. petrov used my pen (:)) and i got his autograph. didnt get any of the signed footballs they were kicking into the crowd. i was nearly on tv and also shouted out delfouneso and gabby to give us one of the other footballs, they never though because they werent allowed - DAMN IT!! lol @ gabby being lazy - he wasnt though, was just taking it easy because of the extra time against sunderland.

There is no defending Benitez for what he has done there today and for allowing the likes of Voronin and Ryan Babel to represent liverpool fc. absolutely disgraceful. We are in a fight now for 4th place as far as im concerned. That should be liverpool's priority now because anything less than 4th place would be a disaster for the club. we could end up like leeds. and if we lose to Lyon we are out of that too.

I hope that Arsenal and Chelsea can keep winning.

I don't know what you're crying about, I've been saying that he's an idiot for the past few years and you've always been suprotive of him. He's an idiot.

Last year, he even said that Liverpool will only win the league if Chelsea and Man United have no luck. He's not coaching Wigan, he's coaching Liverpool.

I'm very sad that I made Ballack captain in my fantasy footy. German cunt did nothing point-worthy in the demolishing of Bolton. Normally my captain is Persie. Should've stuck with him. I'm glad i swapped out Gomes and Corluka though, Spurs got hammered. Traded Torres for Drogba too. Liverpool....well, it'd be cool for them to win the league after 20 years but wtf man. Even as a neutral spectator I can't condone these performances, lawl.

Anyway, I *hope* Arsenal wins the league with blistering footy, but I *think* Chelsea will walk the walk.

yes and you also suggested that we get Sven Goran Erikkson in to replace him

Last season Man Utd lost to Fulham at Craven Cottage. They are a hard side to beat away from home especially without 5 first team players including your captain. you can kind of see his thinking with substituting Torres as well. he isnt 100% fit. what if he worsened his injury and was out for Lyon on wednesday? Its going to be a tough game as it is especially with Gerrard likely to miss it. How do we get goals if Torres is injured as well?

His team selection was baffling though. I dont get why Agger or Skrtel couldnt have played instead of Krygiakos. both were fit as far as i know and only one of them will play against lyon. Why not put N'Gog in for Torres instead of that piece of shit Ryan Babel?

I do blame Benitez for certain things but i dont see what good getting rid of him will do at this point. Who do we replace him with that would be an improvement considering the current fiancial situation at the club? not many top managers are gonna come here for lower wages and no transfer budget.

Just read that Agger and Skrtel are both sick and so is Aquilani. Its unlikely Aquilani would have started but he definately would have come on. We are having some serious bad luck with injuries. If Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal went to Fulham without 6 of their first team, they would be beaten.

Recovering from illness and injury, but available:

Lucas - flu
Torres - groin

Injured or ill:

Cavalieri -flu
Kelly - Ankle
Johnson - Calf
Agger - flu
Skrtel - Thigh
Aquilani - flu
Gerrard - groin
Riera - hamstring
N'gog - Flu (i wonder have they all got swine flu? )

Rested
Aurelio

you have to take all this into consideration.

Reina, Carragher, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Benayoun, Torres.

That's 8 first choice players, meaning 3 players came in to cover. If you can't find 3 competent players in your squad, even if you have a few injuries, then your squad isn't up to scratch.

^^Man Utd had no injuries as far as i can recall when they went there last season and they lost 2-1 so whats your point? I think Chelsea lost there as well last season. Fact of the matter is, Fulham are a hard side to beat away from home even with a full squad to choose from.

So if Man Utd couldnt beat them with a better team last season, i doubt they would beat them right now with 5 or 6 of their first team out including their best player missing. Your squad must not be all that either considering we beat you last week and our supposedly average midfield bossed yours. oh wait i forgot the greatest midfielder in the world was missing-Darren Fletcher . And his absence was also the reason your midfield got absolutely raped in the Champions League final by Xavi and co last May. That has actually been suggested by certain pundits and Man Utd fans.

I do agree that Voronin and Babel arent up to scratch though. but it is going to be difficult to perform when you arent playing regularly and are obviously not happy at the club. Those 2 along with Dossena need to leave ASAP imo. The only reason Voronin is still at Liverpool is because the owners would not give any funds for another forward.Benitez decided against selling him then. Babel hasnt lived up to the hype. I remember he was considered a serious prospect when he was at Ajax. tbh i cant understand why because i thought he looked poor from day one.Apart from one our two performances coming off the bench in his first season, there has been nothing. He has been given so many chances in every forward position and hasnt done anything. Then when he isnt in the team, he sulks. By all accounts he doesnt work hard enough either. I had never seen him play for Ajax though. Maybe if he moves back to Holland, he might fullfill this potential he supposedly has. All i see is plenty of speed, decent shot, poor technique, poor decision making, surprisingly weak for his size, no confidence, one footed . Im guessing that he done well in the dutch league based on his two strongest attributes- his pace, and his shot. The standard of defending was lower so it was much easier to beat defenders with his pace alone and get space for a shot. Sort of like Cisse in the french league.

DPG, Fabregas's goal is the goal of the season so far imo. Van Persie is back to his best as well. Arsenal have a good chance if Song and Diaby can learn to be more disciplined in midfield and their key players can stay fit.

you did while i was chatting with you a while back lol

If Rafa was to go, id want Kenny Dalglish to manage liverpool again. I dont think that he is interested in football management anymore though and those american bastards will want their own man in charge. Maybe we'd get Klinsmann. i cringe at the thought.
