11/12 Premier League thread

I think Liverpool were very lucky to come 2nd to United that year. Rafa got lucky with the formation. He constantly tried to get rid of Alonso, and got lucky when the formation he wanted to play worked perfectly with Alonso in it. But it came too late to keep Alonso sweet. Aquillani is a good player but too soft for the Prem.

Liverpool were shit last year too. This year Gerrard is missing. Torres was missing. Rafa didn't leave much in the striker department.

Roy Hodgson isn't the man for the job. By far. But who would want it? Liverpool fans think we're still in the 80's. Give Dalgleish the job. Best way to kill the memory of a legend.

^^explained how he ruined considering the only real changes from the team that came second and last season's team that he left behind were losing ALonso and Arbeloa who were replaced by Johnson and Aquilani.

Rafa didnt send a promising young Argentinian full international in his final year of contract to go on loan to Galatasaray and then replace him with a 29 year old english left back with 2 caps to his name.

Rafa had planned to utilise Aquilani this season after he showed great promise towards the end of last season. he was fully fit to go this season but Roy decided to give him away to JUventus where he is doing very well by all accounts and plays most of their games. Then we get Cole into play in that position but he has probably played almost as little as Aquilani did at this stage last season.

Rafa wasnt the one playing Raul Mereiles out on the right side of midfield when he is clearly a central midfielder

Rafa didnt allow Mascherano to leave so easlily and then replace him with a heap of shit who couldnt make a bad Juventus team last season.

Rafa may have played negative at times but with Roy it has been much worse. like yesterday when Liverpool were 2-1 down we still had 8 players behind the ball all clumped up together. Babel was further forward and Torres was completely isolated on his up front.

i reckon the reason for Torres sub par performance this season is because he doenst like this manager. i heard a rumour that when NESV came in Torres and Reina told them that either he goes or they do. Benitez always got the best out of Torres. Roy cant get anything out of him in some matches mainly because of the tactics.

Hodgson has managed to win 8 away games in something like 2 years. Liverpool have never had so many losses in the first half of a season as they do so far this season.

Can I just be bitter of the man who sold my favorite player from my favorite team? Thank you.

^^what do you expect though when his team is 2-1 down at Newcastle with 10 minutes left and they still have 8 players back defending

the second photo pretty much sums it up. Babel isolated on his own further up the field with Torres the only player in their half on his own. thats all down to the manager. playing to scrape a result away to Newcastle after the week they had.

lol

I hope Houlier gets more time at Villa. I agree wholeheartedly that Roy isn't the man for the job. Chris Hughton is looking for work....! Who would you want, realistically to get the job? Martin Jol?

well i dont see many replacements atm. maybe Rijkaard though.

and Allardyce got sacked lol

about time imo. judging by his post match comments yesterday i think he saw it coming.

lol. the fucker probably thinks he would be good enough too

and Pittsey, Blackburn spent most of last season fighting relegation. same story so far this season. not to mentioned getting trashed 7-1 v Man Utd. about time he got the boot.

^hahaha.

Good win over Arsenal. They barely troubled us. Nasri was kept relatively quiet by Evra and Rafael, Fabregas when he came on was clearly not fit. Arshavin shouldn't be deployed on the wing.

Anderson, Rafael were really impressive. People say Rafael can't defend but he has kept Bale, Nasri quiet, he is still prone to the odd jumping in but he looks to be on the right path. Anderson since he's come back is showing the form from his first season. Strong, quick, still can't shoot but oh well.

Happy to see Allardyce go, maybe Kalinic will be given more chances now, instead of that long-ball-one-man-deep type of strategy that hardly works.

I still find it funny that Fat Sam said he could manage Real Madrid, but gets sacked from Blackburn, rofl.

We are talking Blackburn. That is how their season would go. And will be the same whoever is in charge.

Arsenal seem to have got a little confused. Last season it was said they were too lightweight. This season they are behaving like Wolves.

In all fairness to Fat Sam, his comments about managing Inter/Real Madrid were a joke he made to a reporter, who reported it as a serious comment.
